U-16 FL Div 1 - O'Mahony's hold off Seneschalstown

29th March 2011

Navan O'Mahonys 2-8
Seneschalstown 2-5

Recently-promoted Seneschalstown put it up to favorites Navan O’Mahonys in this Division 1 clash played in O’Mahonys grounds on Tuesday evening last.
In a close encounter, Seneschalstown failed to take their scoring chances and ran up too many wides from their extensive hard -won possession. The Seneschalstown defence harried and hassled the experienced O’Mahonys attack throughout with particularly good displays from backs Darren Johnson and Mark Fox.

The Early Days

The Early Days
In this effort to write a history of our parish G.A.A. Club. I wish to state that it is a pity someone more competant than myself did not find time to do so. I ask the reader to accept the effort as a tribute to great parishioners that down through the last half century have proudly carried on the great work and the Seneschalstown Club must thank the clergy, teachers, supporters and the great players who have given their time andenergy through the years to our national pastimes.

Mr. Eddie Finnegan R.I.P. The people of Kentstown and the Furze and the wider GAA community were shocked and saddened at the sudden and untimely death of Eddie Finnegan after a very brief illness. For his entire life he had been a staunch supporter of our club and had an unrivalled love of our native sport.

History - The Pillars of Club

Conor Brennan - A pillar of the GAA in Meath
In many clubs all over the country there are men, who although they may not have been great footballers or hurlers in their younger days some may not have played at all] have contributed nobly to the rise of the Gaelic Athletic Association. One such "pillar" of the Association in Meath, undoubtedly, is Connor Brennan from the Seneschalstown Club.
