Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all of our players, mentors, members, referees and supporters. Wishing each and every one of you all the best for 2014 wherever you are in the world and hopefully we will have some silverware to celebrate.
If you are one of our club people who live abroad hopefully we might see you at home at some stage during 2014.

Keep an eye on the club website over the coming days as we look back on the on field activities of 2013.

Louth man Ollie helped Meath to All-Ireland glory

Earlier this year the Keegan Cup winning team of 1972 was honoured by the club at a function in the Newgrange Hotel. One of the mainstays of that team was Ollie Geraghty. Ollie had transferred to Seneschalstown in 1967 from Mattock Rangers in Louth and later that year helped his new club to win the Meath Intermediate Championship before the Senior Championship was annexed 5 years later.

Also in 1967 Ollie was part of the Meath panel who defeated Cork to win the All Ireland and then in March 1968 he traveled with Meath on their ground breaking tour of Australia.

Updated Disciplinary System

From January 1st 2014 the GAA will introduce six new Gaelic Football Rule Changes. These will take some getting used to but the GAA have produced some very good information on these new rules which can be found by clicking on the following link:

Thanks Andy

The players, members, supporters and committee wish to thank Andy McCann for all his hard work over the past year as our Senior Manager.
Andy put in a huge effort as our manager before having to step down and the team had our best finish in Division 1 of the League in a good while, being unlucky not to make the final, reaching the semi final of the Feis Cup and also the quarter final of the Championship.
We wish Andy all the best for the future and he is always welcome in Seneschalstown.

Young Whistler Presentation

This Summer the club were very lucky to be able to call on a young whistler at the Go Games blitzes where our U8 and U10 panels were in action.
Shane Mulvany proved to be a huge asset to the club as he refereed the games, making sure that the players got an opportunity to show off their skills.
Shane is an outstanding young member of the football club and with young members like him helping out whenever they can the future of Seneschalstown GFC is in very safe hands.
This evening we were delighted to present him with a top in acknowledgement of his refereeing at the blitzes.
