Seneschalstown 2-11 Gaeil Colmcille 3-07

In the proverbial game of two halves Seneschalstown emerged victorious by one point this afternoon. Having failed to get going in the first half, at the end of which they trailed by ten points, they staged a Lazarus like comeback in the second period.

A superb debut for the rising stars of Seneschalstown ladies in the 1st round of the Meath League

Seneschalstown Vs Donaghmore Ashbourne

The Meath Ladies senior league started on a cold and windy eve today for Seneschalstown with a win over Donaghmore Ashbourne in Donaghmore in their 1st Rd. The first exchanges of the game were very even with both teams replying with scores. It was 3 points to 2 point to the home side after 10 mins. The Seneschalstown forwards then started to open up some gaps in the oppositions defence and got through for 2 fantastic taken goals by Amy Gilsenan. All forwards contributed to these goals with some great quick movement of the ball within the zone.

Strictly Come Dancing

Following on from its major success last year Seneschalstown GFC are delighted to be staging their second ever Strictly Come Dancing event this coming Saturday, March 22nd in Simonstown's clubhouse at 20.00.

Having scoured the length and breadth of the parish 24 dancers were selected and unveiled to the public in January before being split into couples. Following a couple of months of feverish practise and training under the tutelage of dance instructor Melanie Strong the 12 couples are all set with only the tan and hair left to be sorted.

St. Peter’s Dunboyne 2-12 Seneschalstown 1-11

Seneschalstown travelled to Dunboyne on St. Patrick’s Day to take on St. Peter’s in what turned out to be a most entertaining game of football.

With the team showing seven alterations in personnel from their last match against Duleek Bellewstown as well as some positional switches Seneschalstown would have been eager to get off to a positive start but it soon became apparent that this would not be the case.

Class A Performance from the Junior B's

All County B League Division 1 Round 2

Seneschalstown 2-18 Summerhill 1-06

On Thursday evening in Dunganny Seneschalstown’s Junior B team put in an excellent performance to defeat Summerhill in their B League Division 1 Round 2 clash.

The old Irish saying, ‘Tús maith, leath na hoibre’ certainly rings through for this match as thanks to a blistering performance in the opening half Seneschalstown reached the interval with an eight point advantage, 1-11 to 1-03.

Strictly Come Dancing

On Saturday March 22nd Seneschalstown GFC will once more take over Simonstown as we host our second Strictly Come Dancing event.

Last years event was a resounding success with a huge turnout and it was the talk of the parish for weeks before and after. The twelve couples put in a huge effort in preparation and the attempts of Dicksey mac to scupper proceedings failed to succeed although he did steal the show at the interval with his performance of Riverdance.

Event Time/Date:
March 22, 2014 - 8:00pm

A Minor Setback

Minor Spring League Division 2 Round 3

Seneschalstown 2-11 Skryne 3-09

Seneschalstown got off to a slow start on Sunday morning as they trailed by three points at half time, 0-04 to 1-04.

The majority of the second half was a completely different story as they began to show their ability and had managed to get themselves into an excellent position with four minutes remaining as they found themselves with a four point advantage.

2 from 2 for the D's

All County Football B League Division 5 Round 2

Seneschalstown 2-11 Moylagh 1-12

Seneschalstown made the journey to North Meath to take on Moylagh in Round 2 of the league a successful one as they collected both points to back up their victory over Clonard in Round 1.

With the team showing six changes in personnel from their opening round win this shows that there is good strength in depth in the ranks and will lend optimism as the team and management look towards the year ahead.
