May 27th 2014 Seneschalstown GFC Notes

Club Gear: On Saturday, May 31st, there will be a sale of club gear in the clubhouse from 11:00 – 13:00. The gear will be in all sizes from Childrens to Adults with samples available to fit on for size. Any items ordered will be available for collection within two weeks. This is the only weekend that this facility is guaranteed to be available and represents a perfect opportunity for all club members to get kitted out for the summer.

When referee Peter O’Halloran blew the whistle to signal the end of a tightly contested Junior B Football Championship clash on a damp Friday evening Seneschalstown were left to regret their profligacy in front of the posts as they tallied sixteen wides and had also dropped a couple of efforts short as the match ended up all square.

Seneschalstown 5-13 Skryne 5-03.

Seneschalstown clinically overcame Skryne in Thursday evening’s Under 14 clash in Seneschalstown.

Seneschalstown rattled off the first three points of the game through full forward Sean Commons (2) and wing forward Sean Carey. However Skryne netted a 9th minute major to level things up. The hosts then resumed normal service when Dylan Keating and Alan Mulvany each split the posts. It got even better when Ross Mullen finished low to the visitors net after good work from Keating and Mulvany.

May 20th 2014 Seneschalstown GFC Notes

Senior: The Senior team recorded their first victory in the championship so far this season when defeating Dunshaughlin by 1-11 to 2-05 on Sunday in Dunsany. This leaves them on three points out of a possible six so far and in their next game in the championship they will play Simonstown Gaels.

They will play Rathkenny in the Feis Cup in Fr. Tully Park on Wednesday May 28th at 19:30

Seneschalstown 3-13 Dunshaughlin 0-05

Following on from the senior team’s victory over Dunshaughlin the Junior D team emerged onto the pitch full of confidence due to their excellent recent run of form but anticipating a very tough encounter from their opponents who also boasted a 100% record from their opening two matches in the competition.

Seneschalstown Defeated By Donaghmore Ashbourne

Under 14 Football Cup Division 1 Group B.

Donaghmore/Ashbourne 6-10 Seneschalstown 5-07.

Seneschalstown came up short in their first game of the Under 14 Football Cup against Donaghmore/Ashbourne on Wednesday evening.

Seneschalstown started slowly and were four points down after ten minutes. Ross Mullen opened Seneschalstown's account when finishing low to the Asbourne net. Dylan Keating pointed a free shortly afterwards to level up matters at 1-01 0-04. The hosts netted soon after to regain the lead but Mullen pointed from play before Alan Mulvany split the posts with a free.

Fantasy Gaelic: There is a Seneschalstown League on this year’s Fantasy Gaelic competition for the upcoming Championship. To register log on to www.fantasygaelic.ie. This gives people a chance to pit their wits against other people both within the club and throughout the country and see who emerges victorious. The deadline for selecting teams is Saturday May 17th at 18:00.

Seneschalstown 3-10 Ballivor 0-05

Stretched to the bare bones Seneschalstown overcame their hosts Ballivor by fourteen points in a game played on Sunday at lunchtime. It is on days like this when the strength in depth and attitude of a panel are put to the test and they team came through with flying colours as they moved onto eight points and level with Curraha and Skryne at the head of the table.

Seneschalstown continued their recent winning run of form when accounting for Skryne on Saturday evening on a rain sodden pitch in Fr. Tully Park. Having won two Championship games since their last League game back five weeks ago they were eager to collect two points and a blistering opening eighteen minutes after which they were eleven points ahead laid the foundations for this victory.
