October 8th 2015 Seneschalstown GFC Notes

Pitch Development
For many years now the club has been in need of a second playing pitch to cater for the large numbers of players we have lining out each year.
In total we have 24 sides between Men's, Ladies and Juvenile which puts huge pressure on our current facilities.
This year we have been lucky to procure land adjacent to our current premises on which we will be developing an all-weather sand based floodlit pitch along with using some of the land we already own.

Goals aplenty in exciting Seneschalstown victory

Under 15 Football League Division 2 Round 3

Seneschalstown 10-13 Rathkenny 9-07

Seneschalstown secured their second brace of points in the Under 15 League when defeating Rathkenny on Sunday evening. Played 12 a side, there was lots of space on the pitch for forwards and they made the best possible use of it. This was shown by the fact that 19 goals were scored over the hour.

Minor Ladies secure brilliant win

Meath Ladies Division 1 Championship Round 3

Seneschalstown 7-17 Clann na Gael 3-06

In the third round of the U-18 Girl’s Championship, Seneschalstown took on the challenge of the much fancied Clan na Gael team on Sunday evening 4th October.

Played in excellent Autumnal weather, this was a must win game for Seneschalstown and so they set about their task with great determination and a desire to get back to winning ways.

Classy performance secures the Fr. Tully Cup

Seamus Connolly Catering Meath Junior B Football Championship Final

Seneschalstown 0-14 St. Vincent’s 1-07

Saturday October 3rd 2015 will forever be remembered in Seneschalstown as the day Fr. Tully came home for following the final whistle of the Seamus Connolly Catering Meath JBFC Final their captain, Joe Cowley ascended the steps of the Páirc Tailteann stand to proudly accept the cup named in honour of one his clubs most famous sons in triumph. Fr. Tully of course coached Meath to win their very first All Ireland title and of course the clubs grounds are named in his memory.

Sensational 13's raid the 'hill

Meath Ladies Round 5 Autumn League U-13 Division 2

Summerhill 2-00 Seneschalstown 6-12

On a Sunday evening fixture when most of us including mentors, parents and players would have liked to settle down on the couch preparing to enjoy the World Cup clash of Ireland v Italy these girls took to the field in Summerhill on a bitterly cool evening - the Furze Girls continued on their journey of remaining unbeaten in this Division in the Autumn league with another dominant and determined display.

15's power to victory

U-15 Meath Ladies Division 2 Championship

Seneschalstown 9-15 Navan O’Mahonys 2-06

After the success of the Girls U-9 Blitz earlier in the day, it was the turn of the Girls U-15's to keep the flag flying for the club and that was achieved in style with a resounding victory over Navan O'Mahonys in the Div. 2 Championship.

As this was the last group game, we await the final table to see if we have qualified for one of the Championship finals.

Introducing the Junior B panel

Adam Gargan – Came off the bench in the opening round victory over Navan O’Mahonys but is now a key player in the back line. Now operating at corner back Adam will be looking to continue the fine form he has shown in the knock out games so far.

Aled Ingman – Stepped up from the Junior D side this year and has looked very comfortable at the higher level. Played a few League games with the Seniors earlier in the season and is proving to be a very reliable option in the middle of the field. Well able to take a score any time he ventures forward.
