Going into this game which was played in near perfect conditions in Stamullen both sides harboured ambitions of coming second in the League, thereby gaining themselves a spot in the semi-final against the third placed team. Seneschalstown were on the back of a long unbeaten run and of late had been playing an enterprising brand of football but in the midsummer sun saw the wind taken out of their sails as the hosts earned themselves a well-deserved six point victory.

Minus a few regulars combined with only having 15 players available to them, Seneschalstown ultimately fell short in their bid to get their first win of the Summer League campaign. Having finished level with Na Fianna as well as leaving Paddy O’Brien Park pointless last Tuesday, victory was a must when they travelled to the excellently presented Páirc Uí Rís facilities in Piltown on Tuesday evening.

Seneschalstown overcame St Ultans in this Coca Cola Meath Senior Championship Round 2 clash played in Seneschalstown. The home team were on top from early on and built up a healthy ten-point half time lead. St Ultans upped the tempo in the second half and despite being down to thirteen players for a time the home side ran out deserving winners.

Seneschalstown lost out to Slane in the Coca Cola Junior C championship opener in Slane on Monday evening.
With a mix of youth and experience, the Seneschalstown girls gave a good account of themselves for their first outing together. Slane/ Rathkenny were a more cohesive outfit and the experience of playing in the league this year stood to them.
