Kepak Meath LGFA Senior Championship

Seneschalstown 1-15 Boardsmill 0-09

Seneschalstown got their Kepak LGFA Senior Championship off to a winning start with an accomplished performance on their trip to South Meath to play Boardsmill on Sunday evening. The Meath players returned to line out for their clubs in competitive action two weeks after their All-Ireland win and this was a boost to both teams.

The start of an extremely busy seven days for Seneschalstown’s Under 15’s got off to a positive start when they defeated Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the second round of the O’Reilly & Co. Solicitors Under 15 Football Championship Division 1, played in Fr. Tully Park on Wednesday night. As the Dublin border outfit arrived with only 14 players, the game was played with as many a-side, meaning there was extra space available around the pitch.

Meath Ladies: September 5th September 2021 will be a date never forgotton in the annals of football in this county, as the superb
Meath Ladies defied the expectations of just about everyone bar themselves by winning the TG4 Senior Football Championship for the first time ever. Emma Duggan’s goal proved to be crucial as the girls in green deservedly won by 1-11 to 0-12. Stacey Grimes notched three points for herself, including a vital point right at the end of the third quarter to swing the tide back in Meath’s favour.

Meath Minors: Well done to the Meath Minors who picked up the Tom Markham Cup for the
All-Ireland MFC after a nail-biting 1-12 to 1-11 win over Tyrone in the final at Croke Park last Saturday. This was Meath’s 4th title at this grade and first in 29 years since 1992.
