Junior C
Life in the Junior C ranks got off to a disappointing start for our third team when they lost to Syddan by 1-13 to 2-03. With numbers tight on the day due to injuries and other commitments there is little doubt that the team will get stronger as the season progresses.

Junior D
Sunday afternoon in Castletown saw a historic day for the club as for the first time in our history we fielded a fourth adult team in the championship.
Manager Tony McDonnell searched the high roads and the by roads of the parish for players and by mid-way through the first half they could call upon sixteen bodies in Seneschalstown jerseys.
With many players coming out of retirement for the occasion the team had a real Dad’s Army look to it but they put in a stellar performance and during the second half managed to build up a six-point lead.
Kilmainham though were not to be denied and fought back to ultimately win by 4-07 to 2-10.

Meath Ladies Seniors
Last Sunday saw a dark day for Ladies Football in the county when the Meath Seniors lost their Division 2 League status following a 2-14 to 2-12 loss against Sligo in their relegation play off in Killeshandra.

Stacey Grimes lined out at left half forward and kicked 1-01 over the hour in what was a very impressive performance from her but ultimately the day was to end in disappointment for Stacey and her teammates.

Meath Ladies U-14
Meath Ladies U-14’s lost out to Laois in Round 5 of the Leinster Championship last Friday and unfortunately came out on the wrong side of a 4-06 to 1-05 defeat.

Player of the Week
Congratulations to Jamie Kirwan who is this week’s recipient of our Player of the Week Award.
Jamie lined out at corner back against Navan O’Mahonys last week after missing the previous week’s game through injury and what a game he had.
Whether the ball came in high or low it didn’t matter to him as he was able to win it any way at all. As calm a presence as there could be in the full back line Jamie led by example as he thwarted attack after attack before setting up counter attacks with his intelligent distribution.
A versatile player who is equally comfortable in attack Jamie showed last Tuesday why he is so highly regarded by his coaches.
Always calm in possession and uses the ball wisely once he’s beaten to forward to it Jamie is a very worthy recipient of this week’s award.

Club Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 8, 12, 13 and 17. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000 which means next week’s jackpot will once more be worth €10,000. The 5 by €25 winners were Mick Farrelly, Lorraine Donnelly, Geraldine O’Dea, Ellen Sheridan and Martin Gray.

Tickets for the Lotto are €2 or 3 for €5. They can be purchased from committee members, Lotto sellers, local shops or you can also play online at http://www.helpourclub.ie/localhome.asp?
