Girls U-10
After a heavy defeat to Clan na Gael last week the U-10 girls had a point to prove in Kentstown on Monday evening when they took on Dunboyne. With a cold and strong wind blowing against them in the first half the home side fought hard to keep the scores out with great work from Aine McLarney and Eve Nolan in the backs. With Dunboyne scoring 2-6 in the first half it was always going to be tough. However, with Lucy Lynch and Megan Connelly scoring a goal each and also Darcy Kilfeather popping over a point we were still in touch at half time.
Sarah Jane Donnelly got the scoring going in the 2nd half with a fine point from play. Then with Darcy scoring 2-1 and Lucy scoring 1-1 there was no answer from the away side who failed to score in the 2nd half. Great work also from Katie Finnegan, Maebh Donefield and Grace Navagh Burke.
Team: Aoibheann McEvoy, Caoimhe Clarke, Eve Nolan, Aine McLarney, Megan Carolan, Megan Connelly, Lucy Lynch, Méibh Donfield, Darcy Kilfeather, Nina Loughran, Kaitlyn Delaney, Grace Navagh Burke, Sarah Jane Donnelly, Kellie Geraghty, Katie Finnegan and Moya Waters.

Coaching continues on Mondays from 18:00 – 19:00.

Following that quarter final victory, the girls now progress to the semi-final which promises to be a very tough encounter as they travel to Stradbally on Sunday evening to take on Laois. Throw in is at 19:00 and no doubt the Meath girls will give it their all as they look to qualify for the Leinster ‘B’ Final.

Player of the Week
Congratulations to this week’s Player of the Week, Cathal Finnegan.
In last Friday’s Minor League game against Jenkinstown Gaels in Moynalvey Cathal was in blistering form as he racked up a personal haul of 3-05 with all his scores coming from play.
Throughout the hour Cathal provided an excellent outlet for his half backs to let the ball in long or he was always available to get involved in a more intricate passage of play.

Club Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 8, 19, 22 and 26. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000 which means next week’s jackpot will once more be worth €10,000. The 5 by €25 winners were Fiona Sheridan, Marian Kelly, Fr. Jim Lynch, Patricia Finnegan and Ríona, Darragh & Kian.

Tickets for the Lotto are €2 or 3 for €5. They can be purchased from committee members, Lotto sellers, local shops or you can also play online at http://www.helpourclub.ie/localhome.asp?
