Senior
The opening round of the Hoganstand.com Meath Senior Football Championship take place this weekend and our senior footballers will be in action on Friday evening when they take on the reigning champions Navan O’Mahonys. This is the fifth year in a row when these two sides have met in the group stages and a big support to cheer on the team would be appreciated in Páirc Tailteann on Friday at 20:00. Entry is only €5 and will most likely be from the Commons Road entrance only.

Junior B
The Junior B team took on Wolfe Tones in Round 2 of the B League Division 1 on Saturday evening in Fr. Tully Park and after an entertaining game drew on a score line of Seneschalstown 1-08 Wolfe Tones 0-11. This was a much improved performance from the team and they will now look to build on it when they take on Navan O’Mahonys in the opening round of the Seamus Connolly Catering Junior B Football Championship in Walterstown on Sunday April 19th. Throw in on the day is fixed for 12:00.

Junior D
Having been beaten in the final in 2013 and at the semi-final stage in 2014 the Junior D side will be looking to get their hands on some silverware this year. With this in mind they will get their Championship campaign underway with a game against Bective on Sunday April 19th in Walterstown at 13:30.

Strictly Come Dancing
The countdown to our Strictly Come Dancing 2015 event is now on and the thirty dancers are all getting acquainted with the task of learning their moves ahead of the big night in the Knightsbrook Hotel on Friday May 15th. Tickets are now on sale from the dancers and from members of the committee.

The fifteen couples are – John Smith and Sarah Clancy, Shane Corbally and Carmel Healy, Conor Cowley and Sarah Muldoon, Eoin Battersby and Joyce McDonagh, Derek Carroll and Pamela Ryan, Cormac Noonan and Colleen O’Dea, Darrell McAuley and Karen Lynch, Adam Carey and Ellen Sheridan, Andrew Mooney and Aoife Stanley, Grainne Kennedy and Niall Groome, David Clarke and Nicola McDonagh, Jim Rooney and Deirdre Naughton, Thomas Daly and Jennifer Monaghan, Liam Sharp and Audrey O’Reilly.

Under 16
The U-16’s bounced back to winning ways on Tuesday evening when comfortably accounting for Donaghmore/Ashbourne in Round 2 of the League on a score of Seneschalstown 8-07 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 2-07. On the night Seneschalstown were well served by Sean Carey, Richard McKeown and Jason Kearney.

Next up for the team is a game against Navan O’Mahonys on Tuesday April 14th at 19:00 in Brews Hill.

Under 14
The U-14’s will be looking to record their third victory of the League so far when they take on Navan O’Mahonys on Thursday evening at 19:30 in Brews Hill. Following their opening round defeat to Rathkenny they have picked up some form once more with victories over St. Vincents/Curraha and Skryne and will be looking to maintain this momentum.

Under 12
Donore will be the venue this evening (Wednesday) when our U-12 team take on St. Mary’s in Round 3 of the League. Throw in is down for 18:45.

Seneschalstown Nursery
Our U-8 and U-10 players took part in their first Go Games Blitz of the year last Saturday when taking part in this year’s Launch Day in Dunganny. It was an early start with players asked to be there at 09:30 for a 10:00 start but both sides had a massive turn out with all having a brilliant morning. The coaches were thrilled with the performances of the players and were blown away by the skills level on display.

Coaching will continue this Saturday morning in Fr. Tully Park for the U-6, U-8 and U-10 teams at 11:00.

Senior Ladies
With their opening round fixture against Boardsmill yet to be played the Round 3 game of the Division 1 League against St. Ultan’s which was played on Easter Monday was actually only the second game of the year so far for our Senior Ladies. Played in glorious conditions in Fr. Tully Park the Ladies lost out by 0-12 to 0-06 but while they will be disappointed not to get a win the game will have shown many of the clubs younger players who either started or came on as subs the level that they will have to get to win Senior Championships. On the evening Seneschalstown had promising performances from many of these young players including Siabhra Reilly who scored two points, Aisling Taaffe and Nina Stimpson.

Girls Under 16
The U-16 Girls have a Division 2 League game against Boardsmill this evening (Wednesday) at 19:00 in Fr. Tully Park. Following an opening round reversal at the hands of Royal Gaels and getting a BYE in Round 2 they will be looking to get their season up and running this evening.

Coaching for the Girls U-16 team takes place on Monday evenings from 19:00 – 20:00 in Fr. Tully Park.

Girls Under 14:
Their coaching continues on Monday evenings from 19:00 – 20:00 in Fr. Tully Park.

Girls Under 12
The U-12 Girls play Walterstown in Fr. Tully Park on Thursday evening at 18:30.

Girls Under 10
Coaching for the U-10 Girls continues on Monday evenings from 18:30 – 19:30.

Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 9, 18, 19 and 20. There was no winner of the jackpot of €6,700. Next week’s jackpot will be worth €6,800. The 5 x €25 winners are Phelim O’Rourke, Mattie McCabe, Packie McKeever, Joe O’Brien and Mark Mooney

Meath
Following an afternoon of twists and turns when radio updates and Twitter were a feature of following the game in the stand and on the terrace in Páirc Tailteann Meath ultimately saw their promotion aspirations undone by virtue of Roscommon boasting a superior head to head record following their victory in the sides encounter in Dr. Hyde Park in March. Last Sunday Meath did all they could when beating Cavan by 0-14 to 0-12 but for the second season running came third in the Division.

Meath Ladies Senior
After their heavy defeat to Armagh in the penultimate round of the Tesco Homegrown National Football League the Meath Senior Ladies will look to get their season back on track when travelling to Breffni Park on Sunday to take on Cavan at 14:00.

Meath Ladies U-16
The Meath U-16 team had a magnificent victory over Offaly in Rhode on Easter Monday when defeating their hosts by 7-17 to 3-03. Lining out at full forward Kiah Geraghty chipped in with a goal in the first half while also having a major hand in the half’s other major as she was fouled for the penalty which was subsequently scored.

Meath Ladies U-14
The U-14’s also had a handsome win over the weekend when accounting for Longford by 6-13 to 4-08. Well done to Sorcha Gough and her teammates.

Championship Double Header
This Sunday, April 12th will see Fr. Tully Park play host to a Championship double header. First up at 13:30 is the Hoganstand.com Meath Senior Football clash of Dunshaughlin and Gaeil Colmcille which will be refereed by 2014 Meath referee of the year Pádraig Coyle. This will be followed by Dunshaughlin and St. Peter’s Dunboyne in the Teach na Teamhrach Junior Football Championship at 15:00 with Pat Clarke refereeing.
