August 6th 2015 Seneschalstown GFC Notes

Senior
The Hoganstand.com Senior Football Championship resumes for us on Saturday evening following a break while Meath were in Championship action. Having lost the first three games to Navan O’Mahonys, Skryne and Donaghmore/Ashbourne they now take on St. Patrick’s in Round 4 in what is a crucial game as they look to pick up enough points to avoid the relegation battle.

Throw in for Saturday’s game in Duleek is at 19:00 and a large support is sought to cheer on David Hosie’s charges in what is sure to be a tough encounter against St. Patrick’s who recorded a draw against Navan O’Mahonys in their most recent Championship game.

Supporters are advised that they are to enter the grounds in Duleek via the first gate as they come from Curtis Cross as the normal entrance gate will be closed.

In the League the Senior side ended up in tenth place on eleven points as with the aid of two victories in their last two games against Na Fianna and Skryne they lifted themselves away from the drop zone.

Junior B
The Junior B’s also resume their Championship when they take on Gaeil Colmcille in Round 5 of the Seamus Connolly Catering Junior B Football Championship in Castletown at 12:00 on Sunday.

With our men unbeaten thus far they will be looking to maintain their good form while the Kells men will be looking to go one better than last year when the sides drew in Carlanstown.

Junior D
The Junior D’s are our first side into Championship action this weekend when they take on Kilmainham in the quarter final of the Junior D Football Championship in Meath Hill this evening. Thursday, at 19:15.

Meanwhile after a largely difficult League campaign they ultimately slipped to relegation and next year will ply their trade in Division 6 of the B Leagues.

Minor
Our Minor side will take on Blackwater Gaels in the semi-final of the Summer League in Fr. Tully Park next Monday at 19:30. Best of luck to the players and management.

Under 12
The U-12’s emerged victorious over neighbours St. Mary’s in their Round 5 Summer League game last week by four scores, 18 to 14.

Next up for them is the final game of the group stage when they travel to Rathcairn this evening, Thursday, to take on Clann na Gael at 19:30. The busy times then continue for this very talented group of players when they once more play host to St Mary’s in the League semi-final on Sunday morning at 11:00.
