Ratoath overcame a 9 point deficit at half time to beat Seneschalstown by the narrowest of margins at home in Ratoath on Monday evening.

Ratoath opened the scoring on the 1st minute with a point from play but Seneschalstown were quick to react and even though the Ratoath goalie pulled off a good save from Mark Gilsenan, Gilsenan caught the deflection and slotted to the back of the net. Shane Clarke kicked over a free on the 5th minute which was quickly added to with another point from play from David Hosey on the 8th minute.Seneschalstown had gained momtentum and with scores from Jonathan Gilsenan (2) and Clarke (2) seen them go 1-6 to a point up on the 13th minute. Ratoath narrowed the gap with scores on the 15th and 17th minute but Seneschalstown soon cancelled those points out with points from play from Mark Gilsenan and Neil Darby (2) on the 18th, 20th and 24th minute respectively. Ratoath added one more point to there score line on the 25th minute. Clarke got another point from play on the 27th minute leaving Seneschalstown 9 points up at the break of half time.

Ratoath started the second half well with a rally of points from play on the 31st, 32nd and 33rd minute. Paul Garry got Seneschalstown on the score board for the second half with a point from play on the 35th minute. Goal came for Ratoath on the 38th minute when a mistake in the Seneschalstown defence seen the ball in the back of the Seneschalstown net. Ratoath got another point on the 42nd minute and quickly found the net again on the 43rd minute. Hosey slotted over another point from play on the 48th minute for the Yellow Furze side but was quicly cancelled out with 2 more points from play on the 51st and 52nd minute for Ratoath. Clarke kicked over a free on the 57th minute leaving just 2 points between the sides. Clarke slotted over another from play on the 61st minute but was not enough and seen Ratoath win by the narrowest of margins.
