Dunshaughlin overcame Seneschalstown by the narrowest of margins at home on Sunday morning.

Dunshaughlin were first on the score board with 2 points in the opening 2 minutes but conceeded a penalty on the 6th minute which allowed David Hosey step up and kick to the back of the net. With Dunshaughlin conceeding another free on the 8th minute allowing corner forward Shane Clarke kicked over the bar. Hosey added to his score line with a point from free on the 12th minute soon followed by a 45 from midfielder Stephen Finnegan on the 18th minute. Goal came for Dunshaughlin on the last minute of the first half leaving the home side up by a point going into the break of the first half.

The Yellow Furze side were first on the score board in the second half when a foot block by the Dunshaughlin goal keeper seen referee Tom Lorton award a penalty to Seneschalstown which again seen Hosey strike to the back of the net in the opening minute. This was soon followed by point’s from play from Hosey and Jonathan Gilsenan on the 33rd and 34th minutes respectively. Dunshaughlin reacted well to this with a free on the 36th minute and a point from play on the 41th minute. Dunshaughlin were dominating the play and creating a lot of chances but putting most of these chances wide to the relief of the Seneschalstown team with just a point between the sides going into the last 10 minutes of the match. Dunshaughlin got 2 further points from play on the 51st and 54th minutes leaving the home side one point winners.
