Seneschalstown overcame a five point deficit at half time to defeat Summerhill by the narrowest of margins at home on Wednesday evening.

Seneschalstown were first on the scoreboard with 2 points from play and free on the 5th and 6th minutes from Neil Darby and David Hosey. Summerhill got there first score a goal on the 10th minute. Seneschalstown reacted well with a point from free from Hosey on the 13th minute. Summerhill scored 4 points (1 free) without reply on the 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th minutes respectively. The home side got another point from play from on form Hosey on the 23rd minute. But again Summerhill cancelled this out with points on the 24th, 25th and 30th minutes.

Summerhill opened the scoring in the second half with points on the 30th 31st and 33rd minutes. Seneschalstown reacted well to this with points from play from Hosey, Robert Darby and James Conlon on the 34th, 35th and 40th minutes. Summerhill conceeded another free on the 42nd minute which allowed Hosey kick over the bar before a well struck goal came from substitute Niall Lyons on the 43rd. Summerhill got 2 further points one from play and another from free on the 45th,49th and 50th minutes. Hosey kicked over another free on the 52nd minute. Lyons struck the back of the net yet again on the 55th minute leaving the sides level with just 5 minutes of normal time remaining. The Yellow Furze side got a further point from play from Hosey on the 59th minute which was soon cancelled out by a point from play from Summerhill on the 61st minute. Full forward Jonathan Gilsenan kicked over the black spot on the 62nd minute leaving the home side 1 point winners.
