Meath Ladies Minor Championship Round 2

Simonstown Gaels 6-18 Seneschalstown 4-18

Seneschalstown U-18 Girls took on the challenge of the Simonstown squad on Saturday evening last in Fr. Tully Park. Played in excellent autumn weather conditions, it was expected that scores would be high from two good footballing teams and so it was no surprise that both teams delivered with some top quality finishes.#

Simonstown had the better of the Yellow Furzes girls throughout the first half and breached the defence with some ease to notch up a half time score of Simonstown 6-11 Seneschalstown 2-08.

Seneschalstown regrouped and set about getting themselves back into the game. They were now the team showing more drive and initiative and managed to rattle the net four more times along with some fine point scoring.

Sadly, the gap proved too wide to close and so Simonstown finished with some to spare. Seneschalstown girls can take great heart from their second half display and can carry forward that spirit to their next challenge against Clann na Gael on Sunday October 4th at 18:00.

Seneschalstown: Grainne Gordon, Nora Kilmartin, Natasha Mullen, Laura mc Donnell, Nina Simpson, Aisling Taaffe, Laura Wall, Kiah Geraghty, Stacey Grimes, Kelly Smith, Aoife Lenihan, Shona Loughran, Catherine Smith, Roisin Commons, Katie Geraghty.
