Senior Ladies Manager: We are delighted to announce that Phonsie Gilsenan has taken over as the manager of the senior ladies side for 2015. Phonsie is an experienced coach who will bring a wealth of knowledge to the role.

The team is in very safe hands with Phonsie who has previously served as manager with a number of teams in the club including the U-21 and Minor mens sides which he led to Championship success. He has also served as Junior B manager in recnt years, stepping down at the end of the 2013 season during which they reached the semi-final of the championship.

With a wealth of experienced players who have won numerous senior championships and a large number of very talented young players emerging Phonsie will have no shortage of talent to work with.

We would also like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to the outgoing Senior Ladies Management team of Joe Sheridan, Declan Byrne and Debbie Mangan which stood down following the recent Feis Cup Final.

Over the course of their spell in charge they brought much success to the club winning the Championship and Feis Cup Double in 2013 and 2014. In 2013 they reached the Leinster Final and this year the semi-final.

They successfully brought through many of the very promising younger players onto the senior side, a hallmark of their reign which was very noticeable during this years Feis Cup campaign in particular.

Pella: Last weekend the latest addition to the facilities available in our clubhouse arrived when Pella was installed.

Following last Saturday’s Strength and Conditioning session our juveniles tried it out for the first time with all thoroughly enjoying the fast paced game.

Pella is an indoor version of Gaelic football, which can be played as a or five a side game, in an indoor arena or on an all weather pitch.

At the start/end of the game, each player on each team gets a kick at the scoring area to score for their team, this score worth 1 point and is added to team score at the end of match.

GAA National Club Draw: Tickets for the GAA National Club Draw are now on sale from all committee members and team mentors in the juvenile and ladies sections of the club. The cost of these tickets are €10 with all the money remaining in the club. The prizes for this draw are funded by Croke Park and are superb. They include a trip for two with the 2015 All Stars and a Trip for Two to New York as well as All Ireland Final tickets.
