Senior
Having lost out to Gaeil Colmcille in Round 1 of the League the Seniors got back to winning ways last Sunday when overcoming Wolfe Tones in Kilberry by 1-12 to 0-10.

Boosted by an early Brian Sheridan goal they went in all square at half time before pulling away in the second half when aided by a strong breeze at their back.

The team on Sunday was: Shane Corbally, Niall Hickey, David Matthews (0-01), Sean McCabe, Niall McCabe, James Byrne, Kevin Casey, Damien Sheridan (0-01), Joe Sheridan (0-01), Jonathan Gilsenan (0-02), James Meade, Stephen Finnegan (0-01), Sean Noonan, Brian Sheridan (1-02), Bryan Clarke (0-04, 0-01 Free).

Seneschalstown Substitutions: Cormac Noonan for N. McCabe, John Smith for K. Casey, Adam Carey for S. Noonan, Eoin Finnegan for J. Meade, Niall Groome for J. Byrne (BC).

This Sunday will see them back in action for the third Sunday in a row when once more Wolfe Tones will provide the opposition. This time it will be in the Feis Cup 1st Round will be played in Fr. Tully Park at 12:00.

Junior A
The Junior A’s will take on Duleek/Bellewstown in the opening round of the B League Division 2 on Sunday February 28th at 11:00 in Duleek.

Junior C
We are currently seeking applications for the role of Junior C manager. This team won the Junior D Championship last year and will also play in Division 6 of the B Leagues this year. Anybody who would be interested in taking on this job could they please contact our secretary Declan Kinsella (087 939 2755) or chairperson Liz Sheridan (086 160 2082).

Minor
The Minor Division 3 League Round 1 game against Oldcastle has been switched from this Friday to Wednesday February 24th in Oldcastle.

U-12
The U-12’s will have their first game of the new season when they take on Walterstown in Walterstown at 15:00.

Senior Ladies
The training times for the Senior Ladies are as follows: Wednesday 20:00-21:00, Sunday (times very).

Girls U-16
The U-16 Girls have their first League game of the year on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Baconstown to take on Na Fianna at 15:00 in Division 2.

The team trains on Wednesday evenings from 19:00-20:00.

Girls U-14
In the coming season the U-14 Girls will compete in Division 1 having won the U-13 Division 2 last year. The teams they will face this year are Dunboyne (h), St. Colmcilles (a), Clann na Gael (h), Na Fianna (a), Royal Gaels (h) and Simonstown Gaels (a).

The team trains on Monday evenings from 18:30-19:30.

Girls U-12
Coaching for the U-12 Girls takes place on Monday evenings from 18:30-19:30.

Girls U-10
Coaching is planned to commence on February 29th. Details to follow in due course.

Membership
Now that the new year has begun we would like to remind everybody that their Club Membership for 2016 is now due.
Once more we are leaving our membership rates unchanged which means they are amongst the best value around.

Anybody who has paid their membership by Sunday March 13th will be entered into a draw for two free tickets to our Dinner Dance on March 19th.

There will be a draw done at our Dinner Dance where paid up members will also be entered into a draw for the following –

Dinner Dance
Following our very successful year on the playing fields last year we will be having a Dinner Dance in the Newgrange Hotel on Saturday March 19th. On the night we are all looking forward to the excellent Retro Sweet Club who will provide the entertainment long into the night.

Strictly Come Dancing
They said it couldn’t be done but the social event of the year is back for a record breaking fourth time.
Yes, we’re bringing back our renowned Strictly Come Dancing event and it will once more be held in the Knightsbrook Hotel in May.
Sunday May 22nd is the date to circle in your diary as we put on our biggest show yet.

There will be a twist to this year’s show which means any person who has danced before and loved their time taking part can once more slip on their dancing shoes.

Meath Ladies Senior
The Meath Ladies Seniors lost for the second consecutive game on Sunday when falling to the challenge of Laois in Mountmellick.

Stacey Grimes started at right corner forward and as well as chipping in with two first half points put in a hugely industrious shift throughout.

Next up for them is a home game against Donegal on Sunday February 28th.

Meath Ladies Minor
Fresh from their opening round win over Wicklow the Meath Ladies Minors will take on neighbours Westmeath on Saturday at 13:00 in St. Lomans, Mullingar.

Meath Ladies U-14
Meath Ladies U-14’s get their Leinster Championship underway on Saturday afternoon when they take on Dublin in Navan O’Mahonys at 14:00.

We’re very well represented with five girls on the panel, Aoibhe Monaghan, Caragh Monaghan, Lauren Donnelly, Lauren McCarthy and Orla Finnegan. Best of luck to the team and in particular our five superstars.

Coaching Course
Under guidelines being implemented by the GAA’s Árd Comhairle all Club Management teams must contain an Award 1 coach from this year on.
A large number of our coaches already have this achievement but to help more of our coaches achieve it we are delighted to be hosting an Award 1 Coaching Course suitable for Children’s teams up to U-12. This course will commence on February 29th in the clubhouse.
The Award 1 Course is the next step on from the Foundation Award. Modules cover communication, building and breaking skills, physical literacy, team play and more.
All modules have to be attended to receive full certification and participants must have completed the Foundation Award.

Best of luck to Shane Mulvany who’s on the Marino Institute of Education panel for tomorrow’s Corn na Mac Leinn semi-final against RCSI at 11:00 in University of Ulster Jordanstown.

Club Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 2, 18, 23 and 26. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000 which means next week’s jackpot will once more be worth €10,000. The 5 by €25 winners were Mary Dillon, John Masterson, Colm Curtis, Aoife Clarke and Kate & Adam Brennan.

Bereavement
All involved in the club would like to extend their sympathy to our former Chairman Noel McLoughlin (2014-2015) on the passing of his sister Anne Gaffney. Anne was laid to rest on Wednesday in Old Kilcarn Cemetery following mass in Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Johnstown. May she rest in peace.
