Seneschalstown had their first victory of the u10 league with this minimum margin victory over Donaghmore/ Ashbourne in sunny but blustery conditions in Seneschalstown on May 18th. Both teams had periods of dominance in the first 10 minutes where goalie Megan Darby made some vital stops and clearances and it was Sorcha Gough who opened the scoring with a point from a free in the 11th minute. Aine Nangle added a second point for Seneschalstown before the break to leave the halftime score at 0-2 to 0-0 at the break. Another Sorcha Gough point early in the second half increased the home sides lead but the Ashbourne girls were starting to dominate and Darby was called into action again to thwart the visitors. A goal by Sorcha Gough extended the home sides lead further but 1-3 from Ashbourne had the scores tied with less than 10 minutes to go. Both sides pushed for a winner and good defending by home side by Leanne Clarke, Aoife Mulvany, Caradh Monaghan, Lauren Donnelly and Lauren McCarthy was vital all through the game.
