Girl’s U-10 Round 7:

Ratoath 3-2 Seneschalstown 1-1

Seneschalstown girls u10’s completed their league programme with a defeat to Ratoath in windy conditions on Sat May 21st. Seneschalstown played against the wind in the first half and it was a rearguard action for most of the first half with the odd foray towards the Ratoath goal. It took over 10 minutes for the first score to arrive, a goal to Ratoath and further scores before the break left the HT score at 2-2 -0-0 in favour of the home team. In the second half an early goal from Ratoath increased the lead but it was the home teams turn for rearguard action as the Seneschalstown laid siege to the Ratoath goal for most of the remainder of this game but failed to capitalise on several chances to reduce the margin. The Ratoath goalie had the misfortune of carrying a Kim Rice shot over the goal line for Seneschalstown’s first score and Orla Finnegan completed Seneschalstown’s tally near the end with a well taken point.
Congratulations should go to the 18 girls involved who have given a great account of themselves during the league showing increased levels of skill and improvement over the course of the 7 games and but for some narrow defeats could have finished further up the final league table.
