Seneschalstown 4-5 (19) Vs Donaghmore Ashbourne 7-7 (28)
Seneschalstown captained on this occasion by Aoife Mulvany went down to a strong Donaghmore Ashbourne side in this very competitive div 1 league match played in Seneschalstown on Wed May 19th in front of a large attendance. Scoring in the first half was very even with the lead changing on a couple of occasions. Good defending by Chloe Williams, Katie Geraghty, Shona Loughran and Leanne Clarke and scores by Aishling Clarke (1-2) and Chrysal Delamere (0-1) kept the home team well in contention. The halftime score was 1-3 to 1-4 in favour of Ashbourne.
The second half started in similar fashion with scores been swapped and the teams were level at 3-5 apiece in the third quarter with Sorcha Gough (1-2) and Delamere (1-0)getting the scores for the home side. The loss of Chloe Williams and the strong finish by the Ashboune girls resulted in them pulling away in the last quarter to win by 9 points.
Both teams deserve great credit for a very competitive sporting game.
