Girls U11 Shield Final

Seneschalstown 2-16 (50) Vs. Moylagh 0-7 (21)

Seneschalstown defeated a gallant Moylagh outfit to win the Girls u11 Shield Final on Sat Nov 5th in Walterstown. Aishling Clarke opened the scoring for the winners with a point from play which was soon followed by a goal from Sorcha Gough. Moylagh replied with a point soon after and 2 points were shared where the score was 1-2 to 0-2 at the end of a very tight first quarter. However the Seneschalstown girls had the upper hand on the run in to half time with scores from Aishling Clarke (0-3), Sorcha Gough (1-0) and Katie Geraghty (0-1) to leave the HT score at 2-6 to 0-2. Seneschalstown continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over consistently in the second half with further scores from Clarke (0-6), Shona Loughran (0-2), Katie Geraghty and Sorcha Gough (0-1 each) to complete a deserved success. This victory was based on a very solid defence of Katie Fitzimons (GK), Chloe Williams, Kim Rice, Saoirse McLoughlin and Chrystal Delamere, an energetic midfield partnership of Shona Loughran and Leanne Clarke who did a great job in tracking Moylagh’s most influential player and a forward division of Sorcha Gough, Sinead McLarney, Aishling Clarke and Katie Geraghty that took it’s scores well and not forgetting the contribution of the substitutes.
Great praise goes to the panel for their great efforts at training and matches and their victory was just reward for their efforts. Congratulations to all involved.
