The Seneschalstown girls took to the road on Sunday to take on one of the best underage teams in the county. This Division 1 fixture was always going to be a severe test of this U15 Furze team but as always they fought to the bitter end but just could not cope with the fire power of the Dunboyne outfit.

The Seneschalstown girls took to the road on Sunday to take on one of the best underage teams in the county. This Division 1 fixture was always going to be a severe test of this U15 Furze team but as always they fought to the bitter end but just could not cope with the fire power of the Dunboyne outfit.
The Dunboyne girls dominated the scoreboard in the first 20 mins scoring the opening 9 points. Indeed it took the Furze girls almost 20 minutes to register their 1st point with a superb effort from Zoe Kirwan. This inspired the girls into action and Ava Jane Ryan soon found the back of the net. A quick free from Ava Jane followed before Caragh Monaghan found the net soon after. Dunboyne answered back with 2 more points but again Seneschalstown pressed forward and Mailladh Breen found the net again before half time to reduce the match to only 2 points at half time.

Dunboyne started the 2nd half as they did the 1st with another blitz of fine point scoring. Again Seneschalstown found themselves quickly 10 points behind after the home team found the net after some fine play. Orla Finnegan charged forward and scored a fine point after 15 mins. Dunboyne showed their Division 1 credentials with some magnificent point scoring but the Furze girls to their credit kept coming back with Ava Jane scoring a point before Charlie Murray found the net from the penalty spot after Caragh Monaghan was pulled down. A late goal from Murray again found the top corner just before the final whistle sounded.
