Dunboyne started better by scoring four early goals as Seneschalstown struggled to contain their power and pace, but once our girls settled and got up to the pace of the game they began to reel them back in. Seneschalstown picked off their points and their confidence grew and with thanks to two goals from Kelly Smith and Ruth Commons they were back on level terms at the break.

Seneschalstown 2-08 Dunboyne 4-02.

Seneschalstown had suffered the lose of full back Keeva Commons through injury early in that first half and so had to make adjustments out the field and with Dunboyne playing with the aid of a strong wind they began to score points and pull away. But these Seneschalstown girls never give up and displayed great courage and guts and closed the gap to two points as time unfortunately ran out.

They will have learned so much from this game especially the younger players for whom this was their first time competing at this level. Best for Seneschalstown were Stacey Grimes, Aisling Taffe, Grainne Gordon, Kiah Geraghty and Roìsin Commons.
