Senior Ladies
We are delighted to announce our new Senior Ladies management team for the upcoming season.
Damien Sheridan who was manager when we contested the All Ireland Final in 2003 and who also was Senior Men’s manager when they won the Keegan Cup in 2007 and 2009 is back in the ‘Bainisteoir bib’.
Damien will be assisted by Padraig Coyle, Dearbhla O’Carroll and Geraldine Sheridan. Pádraig has a long track record of coaching teams with a Junior Championship success with Clann na Gael among the trophies his sides have won. Dearbhla was the driving force in setting up the Ladies section back in 1995 and was a powerful presence at centerfield for both club and county for many years while Geraldine has long been a fixture on the sideline with teams in the club.
We wish them every success in the coming year.
At this time we would also like to put on record our thanks and appreciation to the 2015 manager Phonsie Gilsenan and his management team for their hard work throughout the year.

There will be a players meeting ahead of the upcoming season in the clubhouse on Saturday at 18:30. All players, whether current, lapsed or new are asked to attend.

Last Man Standing
The start of the Allianz National Football League is just around the corner which can only mean one thing. Yes that’s right the famous Seneschalstown Last Man Standing is back!
This is a great test of your football knowledge with a different team having to be picked to win each round of the League between Divisions 1 & 2.
Last year’s competition was won by Mark Fox who no doubt will be gunning to win it for a second successive year.
But with entry only €10 and every member of the Senior & Junior A panels and management with entry forms to sell competition is set to be extremely high once more.
All entries have to be in by 19:00 on Friday January 29th – 24 hours before the first games throw in.
Best of luck to all entrants.

New Referees Course
Have you ever stood on a sideline and said that ref hasn’t a clue, that’s clearly a black card?
Well having talked the talk this is your opportunity to walk the walk as the Co. Board are currently looking to recruit new referees.
Maybe you could emulate David Coldrick and go on to be regarded as the best referee in the country or perhaps you could follow in the footsteps of Maggie Farrelly and become the first female referee from the club to take charge of men’s matches.
The course takes place in Dunganny on Monday February 15th and Monday February 22nd.
For further information contact referees administrator Donal Smith on refereesadministrator.meath@gaa.ie

St. Pats Navan
Well done to St. Pats who defeated Athlone Community College by 4-15 to 2-19 after extra time in the North Leinster Junior A semi-final on Wednesday afternoon.
Brian Maguire and Cathal Finnegan both started the game while Alan Mulvany were introduced to the fray during the second half.
Cathal showed his eye for a score as he racked up 1-03 while Dylan pilfered a goal following his introduction.

Meath Ladies Minor
Congratulations to Kiah Geraghty, Natasha Mullen and Róisín Commons who have all been selected as part of the Meath Ladies Minor panel for 2016.
We wish these three incredibly talented girls all the best in the upcoming Leinster Minor Championship.

Meath Ladies U-16
Two more girls who have been selected to play with Meath Ladies in the upcoming season are the excellent Aoife Lenehan and Sorcha Gough who are both on the U-16 panel.
This is a superb achievement for both girls who were on the all-conquering Meath U-14 panel in 2015 and will be eligible for the U-16 grade again next year.
There’s no doubt that these two have the world at their feet.

Ercio Jose Peres Junior
Since lunchtime on Saturday a great sadness has fallen over the local community as news broke of the tragic passing of Ercio Jose Peres Junior following a workplace accident.
Following their arrival into the community ten years ago the Peres family have been a great addition to the parish.
Ercio’s sister Thays went on to play football with the Ladies team for a while, quickly becoming a valuable member of the panel.
This evening Ercio’s funeral mass was held in Church of the Assumption Beauparc before he is brought back to Brazil to be laid to rest.
To Ercio’s family – his mother Tanya, father Ercio Senior, sister Thays and the wider Brazilian community we extend our sympathy on your tragic loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
May Ercio Junior rest in peace.

Coaching Course
Under guidelines being implemented by the GAA’s Árd Comhairle all Club Management teams must contain an Award 1 coach from this year on.
A large number of our coaches already have this achievement but to help more of our coaches achieve it we are delighted to be hosting an Award 1 Coaching Course suitable for Children’s teams up to U-12. This course will commence on February 29th in the clubhouse.
The Award 1 Course is the next step on from the Foundation Award. Modules cover communication, building and breaking skills, physical literacy, team play and more.
All modules have to be attended to receive full certification and participants must have completed the Foundation Award.
Booking through Jenny Rispin on 087 7811215 or email jenny.rispin.gda.meath@gaa.ie
The cost is €70 per person while if four people from the club attend one place will be free (4 for the price of 3).

Transfers
With the list of signed transfers being published today by the Co. Board this is an opportune time to wish Peter Waters and Wayne Smith all the best with St. Mary’s and Castletown in the future.
Since his arrival from St. Marys a number of years ago Peter has been a valuable member of our Senior and Junior B panels, regularly chipping in with vital scores and now transfers back to the club with whom he played his juvenile football.
Wayne came up through the juvenile ranks to become a mainstay of the Senior set up and was a key member of the panel in 2007 and 2009 which won the Keegan Cup. In latter times he went on to serve as a selector with the Junior B and Senior teams.
We look forward to welcoming both players back to Fr. Tully Park in the coming seasons to supports their now former teammates.
