On a glorious sunny evening with perfect conditions for playing football Seneschalstown Minors got off to a winning start in the Championship scoring a point from Darren Johnson and a goal from Sean Noonan. Then Kells replied with two points in between the scores Seneschalstown had a lot of possession but kicked the ball short. Then Daire Geraghty kicked two points, one from a free before Kells got back into the game with three points to leave the minimum between the sides before Ryan O Dowd popped up with a point to leave the half time score Seneschalstown 1-4 Gael Colmcille 0-05

Seneschalstown started the second half in the same vein as the first half but were more clinical with their scoring, points from Daire Geraghty, two from Eoin Finnegan, and another from Daire Geraghty, before Kells registered a point. Sean Noonan then added a point and Ryan O’Dowd popped up with the second goal. Kells then replied with a point. Seneschalstown then put the game to bed with a goal and a point from Daire Geraghty and points from Ronan Connelly, Sean Noonan, Ryan O’Dowd and Conor Cantwell. Kells tagged on a goal and a point at the end.

The team were delighted to welcome Darren Johnson back after a lengthy injury, while the game was notable for a great team performance.
