Schools Festival of Football
Our Annual Schools Festival of Football is back this Friday in Kentstown. One of the highlights of the school year at this stage, this is the culmination of the club/school link for this year and offers all the children from 2nd – 5th class an opportunity to show off the skills they have been learning throughout the year.

Gerry McDonnell and Mick Dillon have done trojan work in both schools along with the various teachers and the evidence of it is there to be seen with huge numbers at our Club Nursery each week and the incredibly talented U-12 team which were in their final on Wednesday.

The Festival of Football will take place on the pitch beside the school in Kentstown and all parents are welcome to come along and cheer on their son or daughter on Friday.

The times for the various classes can be seen below.

Our thanks once again to the staff in both schools for facilitating the coaching and this week’s Schools Festival of Football.

09:30- 10:15 5th class
10:30 – 11:15 4th class
11:30 – 12:15 2nd class

Then on Wednesday evening they took on Skryne in what was a quite brilliant final. Played over two games which took place simultaneously the action was breath-taking and the excitement levels at fever pitch. Ultimately by the time the two matches were complete it was the Skryne youngsters who won out by two scores, 31 to 29.

On the evidence of these two games the future of football in Meath is very bright indeed.
