B FL Div 3

Mon 7th Jul Meath Hill 1-8 Seneschalstown 1-7

Seneschalstown’s chance of making the league final took a nosedive after this defeat to the hosts. The furze side were completely on top for the first quarter and led by 1-3 to 0-0 with Sean Dillon getting the goal but a tendancy to overplay the ball and an improvement from Meath Hill had the furze men leading by just 2 points at the break 1-4 to 1-2.

Meath Hill’s physical approach to the second half had the furze men under pressure and a tendancy to get involved with the Meath Hill tactics seem to dull the furzemen’s focus and the concession of some soft frees allowed the hosts go ahead. The furze men had plenty of oportunities to equalise and even win the game but were off target with some poor shooting. Playing the last quarter with 14 after the retirement of Mark Keating with a wrist injury didn’t help the furze mens cause. Best for the Furze men were Mark Keating, Sean Dillon and Darren Sheehy.

Team: Ollie Mulvany, Caolach Monaghan, Mark Keating, Paddy Curtis, Mark Gleeson, Brian Collier, Joe Cowley, Seamus O’Brien, Robert Ruddy, Davy Byrne, Michael
Mullen, Paul Kinsella, Darren Sheehy, Sean Dillon.

Subs: Jimmy Reilly for Caolach Monaghan(injured)
