The furzemens cause was further hampered by the loss of Paul Finnegan through injury before the break. The second half started with the losers gaining plenty of possesion but wayward passing and wrong options proved critical as longwood outscored the loosers by 2 to 1 in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Brian Clarke was narrowly off target from some long range frees and 50’s and With the longwood goalie making 2 fine
saves and the woodwork coming to his rescue on one ocassion, the losers couldn’t close the gap. The last quarter belonged to Longwood as the scored 1-4 without reply to run out easy and deserving winners.Best for the losers were Cormac Duffy, Seamus O Brien and Brian Clarke.

Progression for the furzemen now depends on St Vincents taking at least a point from the Blackhall game but questions should be asked of those who make the fixtures as to why the final round of games were not played simultaneously as this gives an unfair advantage to these 2 teams who could both qualify with the right result.
