Longwood opened the scoring with a goal and 3 quick points but the Furze side settled a little and scored 3 points but that was as close as its got. A superb second goal by the Longwood No 10 after 20 minutes and some well taken points had the halftime score at 2-7 to 0-3.

Longwood started on the resumption where they left off and increased their lead to 2-11 to 0-3. The losers scored 2 points and had a goal chance from a penalty after Joe Macken was fouled but the same player shot weakly and the keeper saved easily and
from the resulting clearance Longwood were awarded a penalty at the other end but the kick was well saved by Ollie Mulvany.

Seneschalstown only scored 1 further point while Longwood taged on a further 2-5, although 1 of the goals was rather fortunate. This was a very poor display by the Furzemen and it lacked passion, pride and effort. Major improvement will be required if progression to the knockout stages is to be achieved.
