Sun 24th Aug JDFC Semi-Final Dunsany 2-4 Seneschalstown 1-7

With time almost up Seneschalstown looked destined for elimination from the Junior D FC at the penultimate hurdle as they trailed by four points against Dunsany at Skryne on Sunday.

However, deep into injury-time Alan Oakes set up a storming finish with a superb goal and from the kick-out Seneschalstown won possession again and Alan Geraghty pointed the equaliser.

With time almost up Seneschalstown looked destined for elimination from the Junior D FC at the penultimate hurdle as they trailed by four points against Dunsany at Skryne on Sunday.

However, deep into injury-time Alan Oakes set up a storming finish with a superb goal and from the kick-out Seneschalstown won possession again and Alan Geraghty pointed the equaliser.

A draw was the fairest outcome as the sides were close throughout. Seneschalstown had the better of the first-half exchanges, but a Dunsany goal left the sides level, 1-1 to 0-4, at the break.

After the resumption it was Dunsany who were on top, but Seneschalstown’s blistering finish earned them another bite of the cherry.

Stephen Clynch, Mark Dunne, Alex Horan and Micheal Cunningham impressed for Dunsany.
