With this the first match out for new manager Dermot Smyth and being relegated to division 2 of the A league in 2011, Seneschalstown were looking to kick of there 2012 campaign with a winning start which they did when they defeated Dunderry in Seneschalstown on Sunday afternoon.

With this the first match out for new manager Dermot Smyth and being relegated to division 2 of the A league in 2011, Seneschalstown were looking to kick of there 2012 campaign with a winning start which they did when they defeated Dunderry in Seneschalstown on Sunday afternoon.

Seneschalstown opened the scoring in the opening minutes with 2 fine points from corner forward Shane Clarke on the first and second minutes. A goal chance came for the Yellow Furze side on the 10th minute when a good ball into the square from Adam Gleeson to Robert Ruddy hit the cross bar to the relief of the Dunderry team. Dunderry were soon to answer with a point on the 11th minute but with conceeding a free Seneschalstown were soon to cancel it out when Brian Sheridan kicked a free over the bar on the 16th minute. James Conlon added to the Yellow Furze side score line with a point from play on the 18th minute. Dunderry responded well with a further point from play on the 25th minute but again was cancelled out with a point from play from Gleeson on the 28th minute. Ciaran Macken slotted over a further point from play for Seneschalstown just on the break of half time leaving them 4 points up at half time.

Again Seneschalstown were first on the score board with a point from play and a further point from free from Clarke on the 1st and 6th minutes of the second half. Dunderry added to there scoreline with a points from play and free on the 37th and 38th minutes. Sheridan kicked over a further point from free on the 42nd minute before goal came for the home side when a good pass from substitute Tommy Ledwidge to Ciaran Macken seen the ball in the back of the net on the 43rd minute. A further point from Dunderry on the 47th minute left 6 points between the sides. Clarke finished off his fine tally of scoring with 2 further points on the 44th and 59th minutes of the match.
