With a 5 point lead with 5 minutes to go Seneschalstown looked to have overcome Blackhall Gaels but that was not to be as late points and goals secured a draw for the Batterstown side in Seneschalstown on Thursday evening.

With a 5 point lead with 5 minutes to go Seneschalstown looked to have overcome Blackhall Gaels but that was not to be as late points and goals secured a draw for the Batterstown side in Seneschalstown on Thursday evening.

Blackhall Gaels opened the scoring with a free on the 3rd minute and soon added another point from play on the 6th minute. A mistake in the Seneschalstown defence seen the ball in the back of the net for the Gaels on the 4th minute. Full forward Damien Sheridan opened the scoring for Seneschalstown on the 5th minute with a point from play and on the 6th minute slotted the ball to the corner of the net leaving just a point between the teams.Blackhall added 2 points more on the 9th and 13th minute before David Hosey kicked over the black spot on the 14th minute for Seneschalstown. Sheridan kicked over a fine point from free on the 15th minute. Blackhall got another point from play on the 20th minute before Shane Clarke kicked a free over the bar on the 28th minute and Ciaran Macken got another from play on the 29th minute leaving the sides level going into the break.

Clarke opened the scoring with a point from free on the 31st minute but Blackhall reacted well and with Seneschalstown conceeding a free slotted another point over the bar on the 32nd minute. Seneschalstown gained momentum and with a free from Sheridan on the 33rd minute and points from play from Clarke and Stephen Finnegan on the 34th and 38th minute respectively, seen the Yellow Furze go 3 points up. Blackhall who hadn’t scored since the 32nd minute of the second half got a point from free on the 43rd minute which they kicked over the bar. The Yellow Furze side soon cancelled that out with a point from play from Jonathan Gilsenan on the 46th minute. Blackhall reacted well to this rally of scores with points from play on the 48th and 49th minute. Hosey and Clarke got 2 more points from play on the 51st and 53rd minute. With 5 minutes to go Seneschalstown found the back of the net when a high ball into midfielder now full forward Robert Ruddy was fisted to the back on the net leaving Senechaltown 5 points up but again Blackhall cancelled those out with a point from free on the 56th minute and a point from play on the 57th minute. Blackhall found the back of the net again on the 59th minute and with 3 minutes into injury time Seneschalstown were left defending a one point lead but with the Yellow Furze side conceeding a free Blackhall were able to level the match.
