U-14 Girls Division 2 Round 7

St. Michaels 2-02 Seneschalstown 5-07

With difficult cross wind conditions the Seneschalstown U-14 girls got off to a perfect start on Tuesday night against a gallant St. Michaels in Drumbaragh. Mallaidh Breen found the back of the net after five minutes and really there was no turning back for the Furze Girls who led 3-03 to 0-00 at half time. A hat trick of goals in the first half all from the right boot of Ms. Breen and three wonderful points from Sorcha Gough who was completing her third game in three days – what great commitment after playing for Meath U-14’s on Sunday and Seneschalstown U-16’s on Monday.

Also in action on Monday night were Caragh and Aoibhe Monaghan and Leanne Clarke who all showed no signs of tiredness. St Michaels, with the assistance of the wind got off to a good start in the second half, scoring 2 -02 but there was to be no denying the Furze Girls. Eabha Garland scored their opening point of the second half but Ms. Breen and Ms. Gough really delivered in front of the posts.

Mallaidh helped herself to another two goals and two points while Ms. Gough added another point and hit the crossbar. It was a fantastic team display as the girls move a step closer to the knockout stages they are a credit to watch.
