Senior
Round 3 of the League saw us have to forfeit home advantage for the second time in the League this season last Saturday when they ended up travelling to take on Skryne. The concession of three goals in the first nine minutes proved too high a hurdle to jump despite racking up a fine tally of sixteen points over the hour.

One notable feature of the game was the return to action of Adam Gleeson who played his first game for the club since the 2014 Junior B Championship Final following a sabbatical from the game in 2015.

The team lined out as follows: Shane Corbally, Gerry Sheridan, Cormac Noonan, Sean McCabe, Niall Hickey, John Smith, Niall Groome, Damien Sheridan, Teean Cummins (0-01), Jonathan Gilsenan (0-01), Stephen Finnegan, Adam Carey, Adam Gleeson, Joe Sheridan (0-02), Bryan Clarke (0-10, 0-06 Frees, 0-01 ’45).

Seneschalstown Substitutions: Conor Cowley for G. Sheridan, James Byrne (0-01) for N. Groome, James Meade for A. Carey, Eoin Finnegan for J. Gilsenan, Niall McCabe for A. Gleeson and Niall Lyons (0-01) for T. Cummins.

Junior C
The Junior C’s under the management of Mattie McCabe will play their first match on Sunday March 20th at 12:00 against Navan O’Mahonys in Paddy O’Brien Park. This will be their first game in the Reserve League

Minor
The Minors bounced back to winning ways on Tuesday evening when they travelled to Longwood to take on the Longwood/Clonard combination.

Boosted by a two goal salvo in thirty seconds on the stroke of half time which gave them a 3-07 to 1-03 lead. They then went on to keep the scoreboard ticking over in the second half and eventually ran out winners by 4-11 to 2-09.

Next up is a game against another combination outfit when Drumconrath/Meath Hill are the visitors to Fr. Tully Park on Saturday at 16:30.

U-14
Last weekend’s U-14 League game away to Trim was postponed due to the Trim pitch being closed as a result of the inclement weather.

U-12
Our U-12’s will be back in action on Monday evening at 19:00 when they take on Skryne in Skryne. This match will be their second outing in Group B of the League and they will be looking to continue their skill development and impressive form.

Senior Ladies
The Senior Ladies got the new year off to a winning start on Sunday when overcoming the challenge of hosts St. Michael’s in Round 1 of the Rosemary Regan Tournament by 3-14 to 2-13.

The Coca Cola Senior Football Championship will commence in the last week of June.

The training times for the Senior Ladies are as follows: Wednesday 20:00-21:00, Sunday (times very).

Girls U-16
Unfortunately, due to both our pitch and the Skryne pitch being closed last Sunday the U-16 game against the girls from Tara failed to materialise. So far that’s both of the U-16 Girls games which have been rained off which is most frustrating for them.

The team trains on Wednesday evenings from 19:00-20:00.

Girls U-14
Following their narrow four-point defeat to Dunboyne in Round 1 the U-14 Girls got back to winning ways last Saturday when overcoming the challenge posed by St. Colmcilles in Piltown by 5-06 to 0-04.

This was an excellent team display with all players contributing to the win which was a lot more hard-fought than the score line may suggest.

The team trains on Monday evenings from 18:30-19:30.

Girls U-12
Coaching for the U-12 Girls takes place on Monday evenings from 18:30-19:30.

Girls U-10
Coaching has commenced and takes place on Mondays from 18:00 – 19:00.

Each coach has also promised to have all the children fit for an early night after the first session back which will leave all parents perfectly set to attend our Dinner Dance that night in the Newgrange Hotel!!

Once they’re back in action the U-8’s and U-10’s won’t have long to wait for their first Go Games Blitz of the year as it’s provisionally scheduled for Saturday April 2nd in Dunganny.

Meath Ladies Senior
Meath Ladies had the short journey to Mullingar last Sunday when they took on Westmeath in St. Lomans GAA Grounds in what was Round 5 of the Lidl National Football League.

Unfortunately for the Ladies they were to return home empty handed as the side in maroon eventually won out by 4-14 to 3-12.

Once more Stacey Grimes lined out at right half forward and as tends to be the case she put in an excellent performance, racking up a personal tally of 2-01, the highlight of which was a delightful chipped second goal. Amy Gilsenan was unavailable for selection at the weekend.

The Senior side have a break from League action now and won’t be back in action for a couple of weeks.

Meath Ladies U-16
Following their impressive victory over Dublin in Round 1 the U-16 Girls will be back out in action on Saturday when they take on their Kildare counterparts in Round 2 of the Leinster Championship. Throw in is at 14:00 in Dunganny. Sorcha Gough is unavailable this weekend but we’ll still be represented by Aoife Lenehan and we wish Aoife and her teammates all the best.

Meath Ladies U-14
Another side who face Kildare on Saturday are the U-14 Girls who will be looking to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Dublin. This match forms the first part of a double header with the U-16 game and will throw in at 12:30 in Dunganny.

The Monaghan twins Aoibhe and Caragh are out for this one but we still have a strong representation through Lauren Donnelly, Lauren McCarthy and Orla Finnegan. Best of luck to all on Saturday.

Meath
The Meath men face a tough test on Sunday when welcoming high flying Tyrone to Páirc Tailteann in Round 5 of the Allianz National Football League Division 2. Meath picked up a point in Galway last Sunday, whether it was a point snatched from the jaws of victory or defeat is open to interpretation.

Let’s hope they can deliver a seventy-minute performance on Sunday which delivers two points.

Colleges Football
Best of luck to Seanaidh Hickey who is an integral part of the St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra team which will be hoping to take home the Giles Cup this weekend from Kerry.
Seanaidh and St. Pats take on Cork Institute of Technology in John Mitchell’s on Friday at 11:30 and should they win that semi-final they will face either IT Carlow or Mary Immaculate College, Limerick in the final on Saturday.

St. Patrick’s School Navan
Commiserations to Alan Mulvany, Brian Maguire, Cathal Finnegan, Dylan Keating and all the St. Pats Junior Panel who were defeated by St. Mary’s Edenderry in the Leinster Junior A Final in St. Lomans Mullingar last Friday.

Team of the Week.
We now select a team of the week chosen from the various teams across the different spectrums of the club and based upon the match reports received and feedback from the different team managers.

This week’s selection is our second team and was as follows – Robyn Murray (U-14 Girls), Sadhbh McLarney (U-14 Girls), Áine Nangle (U-14 Girls), Conor Cowley (Senior), Lauren McCarthy (U-14 Girls), Aoibhe Monaghan (U-14 Girls), James Byrne (Senior), Damien Sheridan (Senior), Lauren Donnelly (U-14 Girls), Orla Finnegan (U-14 Girls), Stacey Grimes (Meath Seniors), Caoimhe Dunne (U-14 Girls), Cathal Finnegan (St. Pat’s Juniors), Ava-Jane Ryan (U-14 Girls), Bryan Clarke (Senior).

Player of the Week
Following on from the Team of the Week we now also announce a Player of the Week on Tuesdays and this week’s winner was Ava-Jane Ryan.
Ava-Jane is as versatile a player as we have in the club. Equally as capable in goals or up front she lined out at full forward last Saturday for the U-14’s and chipped in with two points as she led the forward line in style.
We look forward to seeing Ava-Jane continue this impressive form as the season progresses.

Last Man Standing Update
With just three rounds remaining in National Football League, it is getting very close to the end of our “Last Man Standing” Competition with only 19 participants remaining.

With no surprise wins over the weekend, there has only been a loss of 6 people from the competition.
Get your tickets back out to see if your still in with a chance to be out “Last Man Standing”!
Best of luck and keep a close eye on our Facebook page to see who survives …. the end is near!!

Club Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 4, 6, 11 and 15. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000 which means next week’s jackpot will once more be worth €10,000. The 5 by €25 winners were Fr James Lynch, Barry Clarke, Tommy Clarke, Paddy Vaughan and Jimmy Carroll.
