Girls Under 16

Girls Under 14:
The U-14 Girls took part in the inaugural Meath Ladies Féile competition at the weekend and they did exceptionally well. With four games to be played in Skryne on Saturday afternoon it was a very tough schedule but this mighty bunch of players battled through all their matches playing some scintillating football, winning three and losing out very narrowly in the end.

These results meant they progressed to the semi-final stage on Sunday where they met Royal Gaels. The Dunshaughlin outfit were superb on the day, possessing a bit much craft and guile for our side and try as the girls in blue did they just came up short on the day. Royal Gaels went on to win the Féile outright and now go forward to represent Meath at the National Féile. We wish them all the best there.

Our panel for Féile was – Aoife Mulvany, Aine Nangle, Aoife Darby, Leah Ryan, Leanne Clarke, Orla Finnegan, Sorcha Gough, Caradh Monaghan, Aoibhe Monaghan, Lauren Donnelly, Sinead McLarney, Kellie Smith, Ava Lyons, Mallaidh Breen, Aoibhe Garland, Aisha Ogunyemi, Lauren McCarthy, Ava Jane Ryan, Kim Rice and Shauna Gordon.

Their coaching continues on Monday evenings from 19:00 – 20:00 in Fr. Tully Park.

Girls Under 10
Coaching for the U-10 Girls continues on Monday evenings from 18:30 – 19:30.

Meath
The counties Senior team slipped to defeat against Roscommon on Sunday in what was a blow to their promotion hopes but they will look to bounce back when travelling to play Down in Páirc Esler, Newry on Saturday at 19:00.

Meath Ladies U-16
Congratulations to Kiah Geraghty and her Meath U-16 teammates who recorded a fine 3-08 to 2-08 victory over Kildare on Sunday in Maynooth. This leaves Meath with two wins from their three games played to date.

Loreto
Saturday was a magnificent day for Loreto who defeated St. Brigid’s Tuam in the All Ireland Schools Final by 5-13 to 2-11. Stacey Grimes captained the side from centre forward while we had four more representatives, Orla McMahon at corner back, Róisín Commons at right half back, Ruth Commons at left half back and Shona Loughran.

Well done to all on a brilliant achievement.
