October 28th 2014 Seneschalstown GFC Notes

AGM’s: The Senior AGM will be on Monday November 17th at 20:00, the Ladies have theirs on Tuesday November 4th at 20:00 and the Juvenile one will be on Saturday November 22nd. Following the Juvenile AGM their will be a social gathering in Maguires Bar And Lounge in Kentstown with all welcome.

Anybody with an interest in getting involved with the coaching of a side or in the running of the club is encouraged to attend these meetings.

Senior Ladies: The Ladies bounced back from the disappointment of being knocked out of the Leinster Championship when accounting for St. Ultans in the Feis Cup semi-final on Friday night in Donore. Playing with the aid of a strong wind in the first half they had built up a sizable lead by the half time stage with many of the younger players excelling.

A notable aspect of the second half was the return to action of Fiona O’Rourke and she underlined her class when sending over three points. The team now advance to meet Dee Rangers in the final at 19:00 on Saturday with the venue yet to be confirmed. Dee Rangers have been on a very impressive run of form of late and only last Sunday won the Leinster Championship. They will provide a very tough test but our ladies will be confident of completing a Championship/Feis Cup Double.

U-21: There was disappointment for the U-21 side when they lost out to Navan O’Mahonys on Friday night by seven points. This will definitely go down as an opportunity missed for this young side as they had given themselves every chance when going in at the interval leading by two points.

Navan O’Mahonys bossed the third quarter to move into a seven point lead but Seneschalstown then narrowed the gap back to two with Niall Lyons and Sean Noonan to the fore. O’Mahonys however regained their grip on proceedings when hitting a goal and two points in the closing moments to secure their seven point winning margin.

Minor: The October Bank Holiday Monday saw the minor side book their place in the LMFM sponsored Division 2 Championship Final when they accounted for a stiff Na Fianna challenge by two points in their replayed semi-final.

Following this victory they will now face Trim in the final. Fixture details for the final are yet to be confirmed and when we have them they will be posted on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

U-15: The U-15 team take on Skryne in Skryne on Saturday afternoon at 16:00 in the latest round of their league.

Club Nursery: The U-10’s will have coaching in the Skills Wall in Fr. Tully Park on Thursday evening.

Girls U-18: The Minors had an impressive 4-08 to 1-05 victory over Boardsmill on Sunday. Shauna Fitzgerald led the scoring charge up front while Grainne Gordon had another fine outing in goals. The girls have now qualified for the semi-final and details of this fixture will be on Facebook and Twitter when we get them.

Girls U-15: The U-15 girls lost out to Boardsmill in the Division 2 Shield Final on Saturday in Ashbourne. They put in a massive effort all year and were unfortunate to run into a very good Boardsmill side in the decider.

Girls U-13: Girls U-13 coaching continues on Wednesdays from 18.30 to 19.30. The girls have qualified for their final and as with the two minor matches details will be posted on our Social Media pages when we have them.

Girls U-11: Girls U-11 training continues on Monday nights from 18:30 to 19:30.

Lotto: Due to the Bank Holiday weekend the Lotto draw has been held over until this evening. The results will be included in next weeks Club Notes.

Tickets for the Lotto are €2 or 3 for €5. They can be purchased from committee members, Lotto sellers, local shops or you can also play online at http://www.helpourclub.ie/localhome.asp?

Fantasy Premier League: With nine weeks of the season gone Aled Ingman’s ‘The Bale-iebers’ lead the way in the club league, holding a three point advantage over Jonny Wells ‘50 shades of O’Shea side’.
