Juvenile Meeting
There will be a meeting on Monday evening at 20:00 for all parties interested in the running of the Juvenile end of the club. This will be the last meeting before next month’s AGM.

Senior
This Sunday, October 9th, sees our Senior team take on Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the quarter final of the Hoganstand.com Meath SFC. Unbeaten in the competition thus far thanks to victories over Rathkenny, Skryne, Gaeil Colmcille, Blackhall Gaels and Ballinlough, we will be looking to keep the momentum up and qualify for the semi-final for the first time since 2012.

Throw in on Sunday is at 12:15 in Páirc Tailteann and for those who can’t make it to the match we will have score by score updates on our Twitter page (@SeneschalstownG).

Donaghmore/Ashbourne are a side littered with players who have represented Meath at either Senior, U-21 or Minor level and have been knocking on the door for the last number of years in the Championship. Players such as Bryan Menton, Dylan Brady, Darragh McGovern and Michael Deegan are key operators for them while Meath player Andy Tormey is capable of wreaking havoc on any team.

So far in the Championship they’ve been in impressive form in front of the posts with 8-74 registered in six games at an average of just over sixteen points per game while they have conceded 3-58, an average of marginally over eleven points per match.

It promises to be a cracker in Páirc Tailteann on Sunday.

Player of the Week
Such was the level of performance from two of our players in last Wednesday’s U-17 Final that this week we have Joint Players of the Week.

Playing at midfield Brian Maguire was the driving force behind the team’s success. Dominating the aerial battle around the centre of the pitch, Brian caused endless trouble for the O’Mahonys defence with his powerful forward runs. When the chips were down in the second half Brian opened up his shoulders and burst through to score a brilliant goal and set up Daire Finnegan for his major before landing a fabulous point from out on the left sideline.

Sean Carey wore the no.15 jersey but must have covered every blade of grass on the pitch as he covered in front of the defence. Sean showed off his game intelligence by picking up clever positions throughout the match, intercepting countless passes which were meant for the dangerous inside forwards of O’Mahonys. He used the ball expertly each time he got possession and over the hour had a fantastic outing.

The two players are both very deserving recipients of this week’s award.

Club Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 5, 9, 21, 26. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000 which means next week’s jackpot will once more be worth €10,000. The 5 by €25 winners were John O’Neill, Finian O’Dea, Cian Clarke, Michael Browne and Oliver Carey.

Tickets for the Lotto are €2 or 3 for €5. They can be purchased from committee members, Lotto sellers, local shops or you can also play online at http://www.helpourclub.ie/localhome.asp?
