Meath A League Division 1 Round 5

Moynalvey 3-15 Seneschalstown 0-08

Trailing by three points at half time Seneschalstown looked as though they were in with a solid shout of picking up their first win of this year’s League but in the end, like a stag at the end of a hunt, they tired noticeably with a lack of outfield options on the bench, and were picked off rather easily by a rampant Moynalvey side.

With the county men available for both sides this had the look of an encounter that would set the tone for their upcoming Championship match but in the manner it panned out it was Moynalvey who will certainly be heading into that game as the hot favourites.

The football played by the home side throughout the hour was very impressive while Seneschalstown, hard as they tried throughout, just couldn’t get a foothold in proceedings as the second half wore on.

Best for the Devenish Nutrition sponsored side were Teean Cummins and Niall Hickey. Next up for Seneschalstown is a home game against Navan O’Mahonys.

Seneschalstown: David Gordon, Ronan Conneely, David Matthews, Brian Maguire, Teean Cummins, Cormac Noonan, Niall Hickey, Brian Sheridan, Sean Noonan, Jonathan Gilsenan, Joe Sheridan (0-02), Niall Groome (0-02), Robert Wogan (0-04, 0-04 Frees), James Conlon, Brendan Lynch.

Seneschalstown Substitution: Eddie Meade for B. Lynch.
