Player of the Week
Congratulations to Cathal Darby who is this week’s Player of the Week.
Playing in goals is one of the toughest positions on a football team but the U-14’s are very lucky to have a goalkeeper who ticks a lot of the boxes you want in a net minder.
Fearless, brave and calm under a high ball are three attributes Cathal brings to the table when he pulls on the goalkeeper’s jersey.
Well able to pick out an accurate goalkick whether long or short Cathal also possesses a fine ability as a showstopper, something he showed off to great effect last week against Summerhill.
Two saves in particular stand out, one in the first half when he managed to stick out a foot to divert the ball to safety and one in the second half when he put his body on the line to rush out and pull off a stunning point blank save.
A truly worthy recipient of this week’s award.

Club Lotto
The numbers drawn in this week’s Lotto were 5, 6, 10 and 27. There was no winner of the jackpot of €10,000 which means next week’s jackpot will once more be worth €10,000. The 5 x €25 winners were Mary Sheridan, Maria McGovern, Anthony Mullaney, Joanne McGuirk and Mick Allen.
