Winning run brought to a halt

A League Division 1 Round 11

St. Patrick’s 2-14 Seneschalstown 1-11

Going into this game which was played in near perfect conditions in Stamullen both sides harboured ambitions of coming second in the League, thereby gaining themselves a spot in the semi-final against the third placed team. Seneschalstown were on the back of a long unbeaten run and of late had been playing an enterprising brand of football but in the midsummer sun saw the wind taken out of their sails as the hosts earned themselves a well-deserved six point victory.

Impressive win for C's

Meath Reserve League Round 5

To the back drop of the new pitch development Fr Tully Park, Seneschalstown reserve league team recorded their second victory of the competition with a win at home over Dunboyne on Wednesday evening.

Goals prove to be key in victory

A League Division 1 Round 10

St. Colmcilles 0-12 Seneschalstown 5-13

Seneschalstown’s U-16 Ladies got their Division 2 campaign off to a perfect start on Sunday against a strong and determined Oldcastle side with both sides serving up a thriller for the crowd in Gilson Park with no less than 13 goals between them!!

Terrific thirteens come up trumps in final

Meath Ladies U-13 Division 1 Shield Final

Seneschalstown 0-13 St. Colmcilles 1-04

Getting to a final is always a huge achievement, and after last week’s disappointment at narrowly missing out on a place in the Cup Final, Seneschalstown headed to Skryne on Saturday 12th November for the U13 Division 1 Shield Final against a strong St Colmcilles outfit. Defeat was not an option for the Seneschalstown girls and from the first throw in they drove on in waves constantly breaking down the Cilles defence and coming out with a well-deserved victory 0–13 to 1–04.

Vagaries of unfair playoff system see 13's end up in Shield Final

Meath Ladies U-13 Division 1 Playoff

Walterstown 8-04 (28) Seneschalstown 6-08 (26)

A cold but sunny Sunday afternoon in Walterstown saw Seneschalstown’s U-13 girls take to the field in a playoff to reach the Division 1 Cup Final. Walterstown having been given a second chance to reach the final having already lost to Dunboyne the previous week. The Seneschalstown girls were unlucky to have been drawn third from the hat and hence were only given 1 chance to reach the Cup Final despite all 3 teams finishing on level points.

Final berth secured

Meath U-14 Roinn B Shield Semi-Final

Rathkenny 3-05 Seneschalstown 4-19

A place in the U-14 Roinn B Shield Final against Simonstown Gaels was secured for Seneschalstown on Thursday evening following an easier than expected victory away to Rathkenny. Due to a number of factors the hosts were forced to field a very much understrength side with plenty of U-12’s making the step up.

Confusion reigns as epic comeback just falls short

U-14 Football Championship Roinn B Quarter Final

Seneschalstown 2-15 Round Towers 5-07

Confusion reigned in Fr. Tully Park last Thursday evening when nobody seemed quite sure what the score was for large parts of this absorbing U-14 Championship quarter final. Anybody who was asked what the score was seemed to have a different opinion to the person next to them but in the end whatever people thought there was only one person whose opinion mattered and that was that of the referee.

Goalden victory for 'Town

Meath U-17 Division 2 League Round 3

Seneschalstown 7-13 Wolfe Tones 1-09

It may have been Round 3 of the League but strangely this was Seneschalstown’s initial foray into the U-17 League for 2016 due to a combination of receiving a walkover from one game and the referee not showing up for another. With this in mind an element of rustiness may have been expected in their performance but this proved to not be the case as they turned in a very slick showing against what was admittedly an understrength Wolfe Tones side.
