Seneschalstown made the trip to Cortown for the second round of the AFL Division 4 on Wednesday night, but unfortunately left empty handed following a strong performance from the hosts.

Following on from the Senior teams success on Friday night, Seneschalstown’s Junior side completed a good weekend for the club when accounting for Clonard in the opening round of the Division 4 League in Seneschalstown on Saturday evening. Johnny Keating’s charges overcame the concession of an early goal to eventually win by two points.

Seneschalstown made the perfect start to the new All-County Football ‘A’ League Division 1B campaign by comfortably beating Walterstown by 11 points on Friday night. The visitors were undoubtedly deserving winners, once they took the lead inside 30 seconds they never looked back.

Seneschalstown Junior C Ladies qualified for the Junior C championship Semi-Final with victory over old rivals St Ultans in Fr Tully Park.

The first half was a tight affair and Anna Wogan put the home team in front with a point from play but the visitors scored their first goal shortly afterwards. It took the home team a while to get going and two points from Shirley Quinn kept the home team in touch.

On all previous form the clash of Seneschalstown and Simonstown Gaels was expected to be a tight encounter on Wednesday evening in Round 2 of the LMFM MFC and while the scoreline might look like the home side won it at their ease, the reality is quite different. Simonstown will look back on the match and identify key moments where lapses of concentration and small errors proved very costly as Seneschalstown took full advantage of any opening which appeared.

Seneschalstown GFC

Seneschalstown GFC is small rural club from the Beauparc/Kentstown parish situated about 6 miles east of Navan and 3 miles south of Slane.
The club has a proud history in all levels of GAA football over the years and more recently with our Ladies teams.
The club has enjoyed much success in all competitions and has been fortunate to have many players represent the county teams with distinction.
