Seniors: The Senior football team are scheduled to play their first League game of the year on Sunday at 14.00 against Oldcastle in Millbrook. We would like to wish Damien, Ian, Shane, Tony and the panel the best of luck for the upcoming season. No doubt Gerry Loftus will have them in good shape for the season ahead.
The draw took place last night for the Hoganstand.com Senior Football Championship and is as follows:

Group A – Duleek Bellewstown, St. Peters Dunboyne, Blackhall Gaels, Oldcastle, Wolfe Tones, Skryne

Group B – Gaeil Colmcille, Dunshaughlin, Navan O’Mahonys, Seneschalstown, Walterstown, Simonstown Gaels

Group C – Donaghmore Ashbourne, Moynalvey, Rathkenny, St. Patricks, Na Fianna, Summerhill.

Junior B: The draw took place last night for the Seamus Connolly Catering Junior B Football Championship and is as follows:

Group A – Trim, Donaghmore Ashbourne, Navan O’Mahonys, Moynalty, Dunderry, St. Marys

Group B – St. Colmcilles, Gaeil Colmcille, St. Vincents, Seneschalstown, Moynalvey, Ratoath

Group C – Wolfe Tones, Slane, Duleek Bellewstown, St. Pauls, Walterstown, Nobber.

Junior D: The draw took place last night for the Junior D Football Championship and is as follows:

Group A – Na Fianna, Drumbaragh, Bective, Moylagh, Boardsmill, Clann na Gael

Group B – St. Brigids, Carnaross, Ratoath, Ballinabrackey, Longwood, Wolfe Tones

Group C – Kilmainham, Seneschalstown, Gaeil Colmcille, Dunshaughlin, Dunderry, Drumconrath

Group D – Donaghmore Ashbourne, Moynalty, Clonard, Ballinlough, Curraha

The top 2 in each group qualify for the quarter finals.

Minor: The Spring League commenced last Sunday morning with a home game against St. Michael’s in Division 2. Having led for most of the game we conceded 1-01 in injury time to lose out by a point. In Round 2 of the league we are scheduled to play St. Patrick’s in Stamullen next Monday evening at 19.30.

Under 12: Coaching for the U12 panel commences in the clubhouse on Wednesday February 12th at 18.30. Training will be indoor for the first few weeks.

Under 10: Coaching for the U10 panel is scheduled to commence in early to mid March.

Under 8: Coaching for the U8 panel is scheduled to commence in mid March.

Under 6: Coaching for the U6’s will also commence in mid March.

General Meeting: There will be a General Meeting in the clubhouse on Wednesday February 12th at 20.30. All are welcome to attend.

Strictly Come Dancing: Following its fantastic success Strictly Come Dancing is back. All roads lead once again to Simonstown where the 12 couples will strive to be crowned the 2014 winners. Last year Paul Finnegan and Roz Nolan reigned supreme after a great nights entertainment. The 12 couples were announced at the Launch Night in Maguires Bar and Lounge in Kentstown on Friday January 17th and are as follows;

TEAM JIVE – Nicola Finnegan & Johnny Gilsenan, Michelle McCabe & Robert Darby, Ger Reilly & Tony McDonnell, Debbie Mangan & Jonathan Keating.

TEAM SALSA – Anita Carolan & Padraig Traynor, Susan Tighe & Wayne Smith, Louise Kirwan & Liam Conlon, Aoife Kieran & Paul Collier.

TEAM CHA CHA – Liz Sheridan & Phonsie Gilsenan, Abby Butler & Louis McAuley, Bridie Marry-Wogan & Padraic Fox, Cathriona Reilly & Joe Finnegan.

Tickets for the event are €20 and are available from all committee members and also the dancers.

GAA National Club Draw: The football club is taking part in the National Club Draw. Tickets for this draw are priced at €10 and are available from all committee members with all money generated from sales going directly to the club. The prizes are excellent and include a trip to the 2014 International Rules Series in Australia for 2 people, 2 Premium Level tickets for the All Ireland Football and Hurling Finals as well as 8 other outstanding prizes.

Schools Coaching: Our schools coaching program continued last week in Kentstown NS and Yellow Furze NS.

Meath: Well done to the Meath Ladies Senior team who defeated Cavan in Round 2 of the Tesco National Football League Division 2 and to Stephanie Byrne who came on as a second half substitute. They play Kildare in Round 3 on Sunday in Carbury at 14.00.

Hard luck to the men’s team who lost out to Monaghan in Clones after a disappointing performance.

On a brighter note well done to the Meath minors who defeated Dublin in the First Round of the Leinster Minor League and to Adam Carey who was at wing back.

St. Patrick’s Classical School: Congratulations to St. Patrick’s Classical School who defeated Moate in the Leinster Championship last week and advance to play St. Joseph’s Rochfortbridge on Saturday. Sean Noonan played at right half forward while Adam Carey came on as a second half substitute.
