Seneschalstown continued their impressive goal scoring form from the Feis Cup in this AFL Div1 game against Dunderry played under lights at Dunganny.

Playing without Bryan Clarke who scored three goals in the Feis Cup final against Dunboyne a few days earlier, Seneschalstown started strongly with a point from a 45 from Stephen Finnegan after 90 seconds. The first of Seneschalstown’s goals came from Joe Sheridan after 15 minutes and this was followed by another goal from Shane Clarke after 21mins. Points from Damien Sheridan, Shane Clarke and a brace from Brian Sheridan put the furze team further ahead. The game was over as contest after two goals from Joe Sheridan in quick succession in the 28th and 29th minutes. Kiernan McGowan concluded the first hand scoring with a point to leave the scores 4-6 to 0-2 in favour of Seneschalstown.

Seneschalstown made a number of changes at the start of the second half and got the scoring off to a start with a point from Kiernan McGowan. Further points were added by half backs Mark Carey and Gary Conlon as well from Brian Sheridan to leave the full time score 4-10 to 0-9. The victory ensures their Division 1 status and relegated Skryne and Dunderry to Division 2.

Best for Seneschalstown were Joe Cowley, Stephen Finnegan, Ciaran Macken, Kiernan McGowan, Joe and Brian Sheridan.
