Seneschalstown recorded their second successive SFC win in this second round tie played in ideal conditions in Batterstown on Sunday evening. This was a repeat of the league final pairings with the Yellow Furze girls again finishing strongly with an improved second half performance. Grainne Nulty and Fiona Mahon caused problems for the Donaghmore/Ashbourne rearguard in the opening half and accounted for 1-6 of their first half-tally, with Amy Carolan adding an impressive goal to her credit. The Seneschalstown defence were caught napping however before the interval allowing Donaghmore/Ashbourne in for two quick goals to leave the Yellow Furze side ahead by 2-7 to 2-2 at half-time.
