Seneschalstown made the trip to Summerhill for this Round 6 game and deservedly came away with the spoils. Seneschalstown were first on the scoreboard in the fourth minute when Nicola Mongey did well to recycle possession before finding the back of the net. Two minutes later Niamh Mulvany added a point from a free after being fouled herself and her involvement was cut short a few minutes later due to injury. Megan Clarke was next to score with a fine point from play in the tenth minute before Charlie Murray went on a mazy run before dispatching the ball to the roof of the net in the fifteenth minute. Mongey then added 2 points in the seventeenth and eighteenth minutes before unleashing a pile driver for her second goal of the night to leave the HT score at 3-04 to 0-00 to the visitors.
The second half started with a few positional switches with Kerri Laverty who played the first half between the sticks switching with half back Carley Lynch and Orla Lynch switching to the half back line while Lauren McGuirk came into the forward line. Scores were hard to come by in the second half as the ‘Hill girls were competing tenaciously for every ball and it took until the ninth minute of the half for Kelly Stafford to find the back of the net.
The home team then hit the side netting and their efforts were rewarded with a goal. Tara Traynor then popped over a point with six minutes to go and shortly afterwards found the back of the net. Megan Clarke then added to her tally with a point from play before completing the scoring with a goal from play following a good assist from Lauren McGuirk to keep their 100% record intact.
Next up is the final group game next Tuesday in Kentstown at 7.15 against Ballivor.
