Seneschalstown 1-01 Ballivor 4-03

Seneschalstown lost out to a physically stronger Ballivor outfit on Sunday evening in Fr Tully Park.

The early exchanges were even and Aly Clarke had the home team in front in the third minute. Ballivor equalised in the fifth minute with an outstanding point from the right. Just on the whistle for the end of the first quarter Kelly Stafford surged forward and her shot ended up in the net to give the home side the lead. The second quarter was going along in the same vein as the first and Ballivor equalised mid-way thru when a goal and went in front with a point from play. Goalie Katlyn Delaney was having a fine outing between the sticks and made some vital saves but the visitors led by a point at the break.

The third quarter started with Ballivor on the attack be again Delaney thwarted the visitors but from the rebound the visitors poked the ball to the net despite a Seneschalstown player having her hands at the ball on the ground and tagged on another point before the end of the third quarter as a number of the Seneschalstown players were beginning to tire following the exertions of the community games the day before. In the final quarter Ballivor got two further goals for a deserved victory but the home team can be very proud of their efforts and won plenty of possession but didn’t have the size or the firepower to turn possession into scores.
