U-15 Meath Ladies Division 2 Championship
Seneschalstown 9-15 Navan O’Mahonys 2-06
After the success of the Girls U-9 Blitz earlier in the day, it was the turn of the Girls U-15’s to keep the flag flying for the club and that was achieved in style with a resounding victory over Navan O’Mahonys in the Div. 2 Championship.
As this was the last group game, we await the final table to see if we have qualified for one of the Championship finals.

After the success of the Girls U-9 Blitz earlier in the day, it was the turn of the Girls U-15’s to keep the flag flying for the club and that was achieved in style with a resounding victory over Navan O’Mahonys in the Div. 2 Championship.
As this was the last group game, we await the final table to see if we have qualified for one of the Championship finals.
Chrystal Delamere opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a point from play and followed this up two minutes later with the first goal of the game and points by Katie Geraghty (2) and Aoife Lenehan had the furze girls 1-03 to the good after ten minutes. However O’Mahonys came right back into the game with 1-01 over the next three minutes and the Seneschalstown rear guard were defending well to repel some other O’Mahonys attacks.
In the sixteenth minute Shona Loughran settled the home team’s nerves with a fine goal from play which was followed up a minute later with Delamere’s second goal. Loughran added her second goal on nineteen minutes followed up with a Geraghty point on twenty three minutes. O’Mahonys to their credit kept fighting and scored 1-01 in quick succession in the twenty sixth minute but Delamere added her third goal on the run into the break followed again by a Geraghty point to leave the HT score at 5-06 to 2-02.
Delamere opened the second half scoring three minutes after the resumption and tagged on a further 1-01 by the thirty seventh minute. Kelly Smith then opened her account with a point in the thirty eighth minute before Loughran got her hat trick of goals a minute later. Smith was on the score sheet again with a quick fire 1-01 in the sixteenth minute with Geraghty adding another point two minutes later. Sub Aoibhe Monaghan was next on the score sheet with a goal before Delamere rounded off the scoring with the last two points of the game. O’Mahonys who never stopped trying, tagged on four points during the second half.
