Meath Ladies U-12 Championship Round 4

Boardsmill 1-4 Seneschalstown 4-8

Seneschalstown overcame the challenge of Boardsmill in this Girls u12 Div. 2 Rd 4 match played in Boardsmill which was played on Monday evening.

Straight from the first whistle, the lively Kellie Stafford opened the scoring with a goal from play and soon added a point to give the furze girls a great start. Abby Hewitt then added a second goal before Megan Clarke added 1-01 to give the Furze girls a commanding lead after the first quarter. Nicola Mongey got the next three scores in a row with 1-01 from play and 0-01 from a free. Next onto the score sheet was Holly Knowles who scored her first ever point for the club and Molly Keating who had moved out the field added an excellent point to leave the HT score at 4-6 to 0-0. At this stage wholesale changes had been made to the make-up of the team.

In the second half, a mostly young and inexperienced Seneschalstown side took to the field and gave a good account of themselves. Boardsmill began to get some territorial advantage and to their credit tagged on 4 unanswered points. Katie McDonnell added the winners seventh point from play before Niamh Mulvany closed out the scoring for the furze girls with a point. Boardsmill completed the scoring with a goal near the end.

Having had a bye in the first round, the girls have a 100% record in their 3 games so far and with over 20 members on the panel there is great competition for places.
