Meath LGFA: Meath have advanced to the TG4 Senior Football Championship Quarter Finals after a comfortable 1-18 to 0-07 win against Tipperary last Friday night. Stacey Grimes chipped in with 0-03, while Caragh and Aoibhe Monaghan were also involved with the panel.
Their reward for beating the Premier county is an All-Ireland Quarter Final against Armagh, this Sunday at 2:00pm in Clones.
Club Camp: Places at our Club Camp, running from August 16th to 20th, are running out quickly so make sure you book soon to avoid disappointment. There will be plenty of fun activities throughout the week and special visits from our own Meath stars Cathal Hickey and Stacey Grimes, as well as Niamh O’Sullivan. Senior Men: The Senior Men wrapped up the Feis Cup campaign with a 4-08 to 1-10 victory over Ballinabrackey last Wednesday. The win ensured a third place finish in Group B with four wins and three losses from seven outings. The lads will now begin to prepare for the championship opener against Summerhill in mid-August. Senior Ladies: The Senior Ladies have had two matches in the last week. Last Monday, they snatched a 2-11 apiece draw away to Royal Gaels. However, on Monday night the girls ensured qualification to the league semi-finals with a stunning 5-14 to 0-14 win over county champions Dunboyne. The girls will be away to Oldcastle in the semi-final, date and time to be confirmed.
Premier Championship: Our Premier Division 1 made it back to back wins in the championship with a 4-14 to 1-10 win in Skryne over their hosts on Saturday evening. The major damage was done in the first half with all four goals coming in the opening period. Eddie Meade, Eoin Finnegan, Podge Finegan and Joe Sheridan all found the Skryne net, with the second half being a more competitive affair.
This Friday, the Premier Division 1 team are away to fellow table toppers Trim at 7:45.
The Premier Division 4 team are in action on Thursday night, where they will play St. Ultan’s in Seán Newman Park at 7:45 in Round 3 of the championship.
Junior Ladies: Hard luck to the Junior Ladies who lost to Slane/Rathkenny on Sunday evening.
Minor Boys: Our Minor Boys were unlucky to lose out against a strong St. Colmcille’s team last Tuesday evening in Round 5 of the Minor Football League Division 1, with the game finishing 3-12 to 3-09 in favour of the Seasiders. Tonight (Tuesday), Ratoath are the visitors for the Round 6 game in Seneschalstown at 7:30pm.
U16 Girls: Congratulations to the U16 girls who defeated St. Michael’s away from home last Thursday night. This Friday, Clann na nGael are the visitors to Fr. Tully Park for the girls’ next match.
U15 Boys: The Under 15 boys are back in action this Saturday at home v St. Colmcille’s at 2:00pm, in what is a clash of the top two teams in the table. Our lads lie in second place with four wins from four, with last weekend’s game v Ratoath postponed.
U13 Boys: Hard luck to the U13 boys team who were defeated by Walterstown last Friday night.
U12 Girls: A massive well done to our U12 Yellow team who had a superb win over Skryne last Saturday, where they scored 6-21 in the process. This was a superb team performance by all involved.
U11/10 Boys: Our Under 11/10 boys teams had a busy week. Firstly, the group as a whole played Trim on Wednesday evening. Then on Friday evening the U10 boys took on St. Colmcille’s, and on Saturday the U11’s played Syddan. The boys enjoyed playing their games and no doubt will be eager to play more games in the near future.
U7 Boys: Our U7 boys played away to Walterstown on Saturday morning and represented the club with great distinction. The boys had loads of fun and showed off all of their brilliant skills.
