Meath GAA: Well done to Cathal Hickey who bagged himself 1-02 as Meath comfortably defeated Longford in the Leinster SFC Quarter Final on Sunday afternoon. The game ended 4-22 to 0-12 in favour of the home side, with Cathal finding the back of the net in the second half. Meath now play Dublin in the Leinster semi final in two weeks’ time.

Senior Men: The Senior Men came up against a strong Simonstown Gaels team in Round 4 of the Feis Cup last Wednesday night, and it was the Navan side who came out on top on a scoreline of 1-19 to 2-09. The lads deserve great credit for finishing the game strongly after being well behind early on.

On Wednesday, we face our third away trip of the competition as the lads play St. Colmcille’s in Piltown at 7:45.

Senior Ladies: The Senior Ladies were unfortunate to come up short against Oldacstle in the latest round of the league last Monday, losing out on a score of 3-11 to 1-14

Premier Championship: Our two Premier began their Championship campaigns over the weekend, resulting in contrasting fortunes.

On Friday, our Division 1 (Junior) team turned on the style to come from behind to beat Gaeil Colmcille 3-10 to 0-16, with Joe Sheridan (2) and Dylan Keating netting in the second half. You can read the match report here: https://www.seneschalstowngaa.com/content/goals-give-juniors-great-start

On Sunday morning, our Premier Division 4 team came up just short away to Clann nan Gael losing 2-12 to 0-14. Having reduced the deficit to a point on a number of occasions, the team could never get level and were left to rue the concession of two first half goals – one of which was a penalty. The team and scorers were:

Brian Boyd, Tiernan Keogh, Kevin Casey, Tom Smyth, Richie McKeown, Cormac Duffy, Neil Darby, Robert Ruddy, Damien Sheridan, Ross Mullen (0-03), Kit Waddington (0-03) Brendan Lynch (0-03), Will Finnegan, Rory O’Connor, Seanie Dalton.

Subs Used: Shane Mulvany (0-01), Owen Mullen, Oisin McEvoy, Eoin Finegan.

Junior Ladies: On Thursday evening, our Junior Ladies came up against St. Colmcille’s in a game which was close throughout, but unfortunately a late goal scuppered their chances of taking something from the game, losing 3-10 to 2-10.

Minor Boys: Our Minor Boys came up short against a strong Dunboyne team on Tuesday in Round 2 of the Minor League. This Tuesday, the lads play Skryne at home at 7:30.

U16 Girls: The girls played against a good Oldcastle side this week and were unfortunately beaten.

U15 Boys: On Saturday, the U15 Boys travelled to St. Peter’s Dunboyne in Round 2 of the league and picked up an excellent win, the game finishing 3-12 to 1-15. This leaves the team in second place on score difference, with a home game to come against Donaghmore/Ashbourne next Saturday.

U11 Boys: Well done to the U11 boys who played against St. Marys, Donore on Saturday.
